+jpaterjr Pulled this one part out of the very long open carry bill HB910: "It is an exception to the application of this subsection that the handgun was partially or wholly visible but was carried in a shoulder or belt holster by the license holder." So "printing" or an inadvertent display will no longer be illegal.
For a company who is supposed to be the expert on this and be there to
properly inform it is sad to see they think it is ok for police to stop you
for no reason except you are legally carrying your weapon. Multiple courts
have found the 4th amendment provides protection against this and with or
without the amendment it is against the law for a police officer to do it.
That said, I understand they can claim whatever they want and do it
anyways, as many will probably do it but that does not make it ok or legal.
+Cesare Beccaria He is wrong. Texas law does not change Supreme Court fourth amendment case law. You cannot be detained (and demanding a license is detainment) for the mere presence of a firearm even if possession of that firearm requires a license. While they may have removed the amendments that would have codified that, their absence does not remove the already standing prohibitions on detainment without RAS and that firearm possession alone does not create RAS if it is lawful for someone to possess a firearm.
+Wes Parton He did not say he was OK with it or agreed with it or disagreed with it. This was not a political speech. He just explained what the new law is and says. That's what I want to hear. Someone else can fight the good fight. I just prefer to stay out of jail and NOT use my Texas Law Shield benefits.

Why was their no dashcam footage of the events?
Should be mandatory for all police vehicles to be equipped with dash cams
and police outfitted with cams as well.
We need accountability.
What we need is a federal mandate. There is no excuse in this day and age to for "public servants" not to have this technology available and mandated. Think of all the money it would actually save if lawsuits are avoided because coos are actually not violating civilians rights.
