Chiappa Sisters in Venice
Hi guys, this is a little upload from our trip to Italy. We are currently in Venice, but we are moving to Parma later this evening and then eventually Milan. We would ...
it looks perfect... i don't really like all the tourist stuff... we went
really often to piemonte when i was a kid and we always went to "olmo
gentile" its up on a hill where you can eat the best sunday lunch i ever
had... if you ever happen to be near you really should try it out... :)
Not every European country has the prejudice that any adult playing with kids will by default bear sinister intentions. Where I come from it's completely normal to see an old guy on his way to the coffee shop stopping to kick a ball with some kids playing on the street.
Ok, I have two suggestions for places outside Parma (they require a car).
The first is Boutique dei salumi in Zibello (right on the main square
//www.boutiquedeisalumi.it/), with a fantastic seleztion of salami,
ham and so on. They also stock some really fantastic Parmigiano Reggiano.
The other is in Novellara, not far from Reggio Emilia, and it's a Balsamico
Tradizionale di Reggio Emilia producer called San Giacomo (
//www.acetaiasangiacomo.com/home.aspx). They have loads of incredible
products, not only the high-price tradizionale but also a younger balsamico
(called Condimento) that is in the same price range of the cheapo
industrial styuff (Aceto di Modena IGT) but has an incredible flavor. The
acetaia owner, Andrea, speaks English and he's easy on the eyes as well.
besides, the acetaia itself is a nice place in the middle of thr
countryside, and visiting the aging section of the acetaia with Andrea is
extreley interesting. I have bnen there twice and would go again anytime.
