Here is a famous song by the great and beautiful jazz singer and actress Monica Lewis. For nearly two decades throughout the 1940's and 50's Monica Lewis ...
I came across Monica when I looked up the yes we have no bananas song. The
Chiquita banana song was there too and she was the one who sang it. I had
never heard of her. She is amazing and I will be looking into her movies as
well. I love the classic movies! Thanks to all who posted this. Sadly I
watch alone. My sis just passsed, she was only 49. We watch the movies
together. If you like old classics..check out a Claudette Colbert /Joel
McCrea called The Palm Beach Story...hysterical!!
I remember Monica Lewis when I was a young boy growing up in the 1950's. A
song I remember by her was one talking about the 1920era called Let's Do It
Again. Like me she was born a bit too late to enjoy the fun of the 1920's
so wanting to do it again would be a logical thing to sing about. Haven't
been able to find the song on You Tube but perhaps somebody has a copy and
will post it in the near future. Thanks for keeping Monica Lewis alive.
THANK YOU FOR THIS MONICA LEWIS TRIBUTE........ I only thought this was one
of the standard actresses who showed up in those big 1970s' disaster movies
- BUT NOW I'VE LEARNED SHE WAS SO MUCH MORE !!! MS. MONICA was also great
friends with my all time favorite lady - AVA GARDNER...MONICA has a very
pretty voice - will have to look up more stuff on her. THANKS !!
The only way to get a copy of Monica Lewis singing "If'n You Don't" is to
get the movie "The D.I." and I'll be nailed with a chainsaw and eat raw
okra before I watch Jack Webb longer than 1 minute. Let me know if you find
out anything.
I never heard of her before but it popped up from my brand new Lana Turner
tribute. She's stunning! 5 stars, bravo! I favorited this, and I'll be
looking into her films. Thanks johnxxx20000.
Why i love this duo, I can't explain. I've been watching them since the late 40's and always, always proclaim my adulation . They were incredibly good together. Don't think that anyone can do these songs as well as Prima and Smith.
