Yellow Brick Road (accordion)
Song by Elton John, adapted to accordion by myself. Creation of notes and training took the most time of all my modern presentations here on youtube, even if ...
Thanks for your comment ! Well, crossing is not my intention, but adaption
as far as necessary and as less as possible. I want to show, that playing
the accordion is NOT limited to a specific genre. Even rock/pop... like
Carlos Santana, Dire Straits, ABBA can be played on the accordion quite
reasonable and not even sounding bad. This is, what i want to show - not
more and not less. Sometimes this is hard to perform - but not impossible.
I hope you'll like it at least a little bit.
Thank you for your nice comment and compliments. That is may aim. Without
the will to interprete a song and a try to bring to the audience, one
should not call itself a musician. Dedication, emotion, feelings... and fun
during playing any instrument or a song - those are important things. It's
not within the notes itsels, it's much more behind...
Thank you for your nice comment. First off all, i must say, that Elton John
is one of my favorite singers. He did great things in composing and
playing/singing. That's one of the reasons why i play it... beside... yes,
i like the song very much because of the harmonies (which i did not hit
perfectly - but almost close to it). Hard to play.
Yes - I totally agree to what you wrote. And just that makes this song
unique in sound - and beautyful. Hard to play... (fingerings) easy to
listen. Many songs are like that - there is another popgroup, that used to
do the same thing: great songs, easy listening and some very hard to play.
The name of the group ? ABBA. What else.
Thank you very much Joan... but you can trust in me ! Surely I (and my
music) am not from outer space ;-) but earth instead... I am close to you -
just turn the globe on your desk and you can even touch my space ! hey, we
are living on a very small world those days...
Im like my music to cross genres because I listen to many styles. I've
heard Elton John's music adapted to differnt styles but never accordian and
I really like it. I'm looking forward to "Nights in White Satin" I think
that will sound very good,too.
Yes, a wonderful song. In the meantime I changed my recording procedure and
equipment as well. This was recorded too loud and i should have taken a bit
more time for training on it... ;-) Thanks for your encouraging words.
thank you very much - it was a hard job to get so far. Not yet perfect -
but close to it (at least for me). With a little bit more training i will
be satisfied with my job completely. Thanks again.
Libertango You are simply "Out of the world" on an accordion. Reminds me of
going to a fair or a being in a fairy tale land! Many stars*******

Du wirst. Alles was Du brauchst ist ein(e) gute(r) Lehrer/Lehrerin... viel
Geduld und Selbstdisziplin... aber vor allem Freude am Musizieren ! Dann
wird das schon werden !
BEAUTIFUL! Some very RICH sounding chords in this one. A real treat for the
ears. You are very gifted and talented and I thank you for sharing this.
FIVE STARS Mike
Thanks Mike... yes, you are right - this is a very nice song - and one of
the most complex, difficult ones.... just because of those chords that you
mentioned ;-)
Wow!! Ich spiele auch Akkordeon und bin gerade auf der Suche nach den Noten
dazu :) woher hast du sie?:)
