This a short fancy slide show with some impressions from 2015 Gerätehausfest (festival/Show at the Gelnhausen-West fire department, Germany). It starts with ...
Coleman Kaserne - Gelnhausen 2009
This goes out to my fellow ex DAWGS - Delta Company 1/48 INF - Turn the sound down...lotta wind and a bad mic....oh and ignore me giving the wife ...
Nice seeing the old place again! I was 1/33 Armor HQ company - mortar
platoon. 1984-1985. I lived in the first building on the right entering in
the back gate. 6:38 point in the video - in front of the parade field. We
used to run out the back gate all the way up the hill. One time we did
some rappelling at the top. Spent a lot of time in the field at
Grafenfoer, Baumhaulder, and one other one - can't remember. Saw the A-10
tank killer jets live fire once at Graf - very cool. We had the M-60 tanks
and were just getting the new M-1's when I left. I was working the
plotting boards in the 577 command track for the mechanized mortar section
- 4 deuce. We partied hard in Frankfurt - Sachsenhausen - every chance we
got. Thanks for sharing!
Nice! I am sorry but I can't remember any of the scout dudes now, even though I knew some then. We were probably there at the same time. Do you remember Captain Finney? Small dude - carried a stick - napoleon complex - HA! Some good memories hanging in town and taking the train to Frankfurt. Do you remember Hoenfels, Baumhaulder, and Grafenvoer training grounds?
Hallo, ich wohne in der nähe von Gelnhausen. Wo ist das Video gemacht
?Grüße aus Deutschland.Hello, I live near Gelnhausen. Where is the video
made? Greetings from Germany.
Coleman Kaserne - Gelnhausen Family Housing- End of an era
Gelnhausen housing area demolition. You are seeing building 1825 being torn down. Hmmm anyone recognize their living room? Building is along the fence ...
I so agree with you. I lived there in 1961. What memories.
Road trip: Autobahn by night
A timelapse of a journey down the A66 autobahn, from between junctions 47 (Steinau an der Straße) and 48 (Bad Soden-Salmünster), leaving at junction 43 ...
Yeah, Bossman, it looked like you were crawling compared to everyone else
:) Nice video and sound. Do you guys have right on red over there? Looked
like you came up on an intersection where it would have been ok to take a
right turn on a red light. Tschues. I'm changing the spelling based on your
Umlat video that says you can use an e after the letter instead. Tschues
Thank you Braun. Here it is done by state I believe. I know that in my state and the adjacent states right on red, unless prohibited by a sign is legal. I'm sorry to hear about the plane crash and the death of your countrymen as well as those from other countries. Very sad. Thanks again for the reply.
I just wonder what the heck this vid is good for. Being a German I think I
don't really need to see a Brit driving on the Autobahn, LOL !!! The hidden
purpose, however, may well be the fact that 'rewboss' meant to demonstrate
yet another time that Brits have got a pronounced sense of nonsense! What a
hilarious waste of time! Thanks a bunch, 'rewboss'! (I'm still bursting
with laughter!).
I just wonder what the heck your comment is good for. Being a Brit I think I don't really need to read a comment from a German, LOL !!! The hidden purpose, however, may well be the fact that 'groppermilk' meant to demonstrate yet another time that Germans have no sense of fun! What a hilarious waste of time! Thanks a bunch, 'groppermilk'! (I'm still bursting with boredom!).
I don't know what speed we were driving; I think it was about 120 to 130 km/h. Our car is capable of more (but not much more), but we'd already been through some thick fog and noticed that the road had been salted in some places, so we were expecting frost or freezing fog. Under such conditions, especially when the road is as curvy as this, it's wise to avoid exceeding 130: at higher speeds than that, you can be held partly responsible if you are involved in an accident; you can even be charged with reckless driving. All it takes is to go round a bend to see a tailback and be unable to slow down in time. My wife has already been in one (thankfully very minor) accident that wasn't her fault, and doesn't want to repeat the experience. The thing about the recommended speed is that it's not, as most people think, a polite suggestion. The law does say you don't have to take it as a speed limit, but that you should.
Autobahn bei Nacht. Spannend :D
This particuar fragment seems to be really curvy for a german Autobahn.
Thay usually go more or less straight in line, not in such extreme
serpentines like this one.
+rewbossI would make the argument that the Wetterau isn't a hilly range :). It's actually a lowland sitting beetween Vogelsberg (which I think is the hilly region your talking about) and Taunus.
'There you have it; I can only relate to the Ruhrgebiet and the Autobahns (awkward english plural :P ) to and from the east and north sea. They are often through Flachland, however. :DBTW: you're making nice videos. It's nice to see how other people see germany and german traditions.
Ich fand die rote Karte überzogen! Er kann zwar nicht mehr fair klären,
aber der Spieler wirft sich auch gut hin. Kann man geben, man kann aber
auch 2 Minuten geben, wenn man seinen sozialen hat.^^
