Okay this is the problem: You are pressing the POWER button *Slightly* before the HOME BUTTON. Try practicing when the phone is ON - when you hit them EXACTLY at the same time, you will see the screen flash and it will take a screenshot. If you hit POWER *slightly* before the HOME BUTTON it will allow you to shut off your phone. I was having same problem as you - but then I realized this.

dont hold the home button befor but JUST AFTER the screen comes on then dont just count down hold them both down until the screen goes off then let go of the sleep/wake button then wate till you hear the sound of your computer recongnizing it and it should work! :)

Try this Unlock your iphone then hold "power and home" button in for 10 seconds release "power button" and keep holding "home button for" 20 seconds. That should put you into DFU mode

i did it yesterday, my iphone 3g screen turned off after i hold down home botton with the power botton for 3 second, you are doing right but it just wont go in DFU mode

ich bin jetzt kein vollprofi in der sache...aber ich schlag jetzt einfach mal folgendes vor - aktuallisiere dein ITUNES auf deinem rechner auf den neuesten stand - schliesse dein iphone per usb kabel an deinen rechner an - und an der stelle wo sich jetzt gar nichts tut - einfach mal "power bottom" + "Home bottom) GEMEINSAM für 10 sec halten --- irgendwann hörst du dann das "dingdong" signal ...und dann müsstest du mit itunes verbunden sein... einfach mal ausprobieren ...

hi... ja ich weiss...davon wird auch mein nächstes tutprial handeln...weil das ITUNES nur die aktellste version auf das iphone 3g laden möchte...aber dazu ist es ncht gemacht...wenn du also das iphone komplett zurücksetzt....kann man die IOS version 4.2.1 NUR mit einem jailbreak draufziehen.... und die version 3.1.3 nur unter umständen....

Hallo ich habe folgendes Problem mit meinem 3g: Ich komme nicht in den DFU-Mode! Ich habe alles probiert aber es klappt einfach nicht! Wenn ich 3 sekunden den Power button drücke erscheint das Apple Logo und bleibt auch so, es geht einfach nicht weg. Kannst du mir bitte weiterhelfen?

ich krieg das nicht hin -.- immer wenn ich das mache erkennt itunes das iphone nicht und dann muss ich das verbindungskabel raus nehmen und wieder reinstecken, dann startet das iphone neu... und ich musste es auf iOS 3.1.3 downgraden

nada, parece muerto mi iphone, use como 5 programas que aseguraban desbloquearlo, el problema radica en que ni la PC ni el itunes lo detectan, y solo esta en modo recovery no pasa de ahi. el modo DFU si lo detectan los programas para liberar pero se traban a medio proceso ni tiran error, nadamas ahi se quedan atascados.

@kirabsb If your device is in DFU mode and being un-responsive or, aka, "Bricked" then you can try two options. 1- if it is DFU mode you can get out of DFU mode by holding the Home and Power button for 10 seconds, then once that 10 seconds is up, release the HOME button but continue to hold the power button till you get the apple logo and then you should be fine. If that does not work then you can un-brick your iphone but simply searching a vid on Youtube on how to. Hope this helped.

Mkcshen-.. If your wifi isn't working that has to do with the internal parts of the iPhone, now I had an iPhone 3g thats wifi also didn't work (90% of the time) the remedy was to wrap the iPhone in a papertowl, then put it in a ziplock baggy and then put the iPhone in the freezer for 20-30 minutes. I know it sound crazy but it works. If that dose not work I would consider buying a new iPhone or getting the wifi antenna replaced. Glad I could help

Thank you so much MRAPPLEIPHONEPRO! It works!!! This is the first time seeing my 3G back. However, I do have another question. Not sure if you have other posting. The reason I had problem on 4.2.1 with 6.15 before was that the wifi didn't work. So iphone without wifi is almost useless.. Now it's on 3.1.3 with BB 6.15, I still see the same. Thank you for helping again.

If cydia does not work all you have to do is rejailbreak that firmware...now you don't have to restore the firmware by anymeans, you just need to rejailbreak the firmware you already restored too...for 3.1.3 I would use spirit, its the fastest...but you can also use redsn0w if your used to it... My 3gs iphone went to the black screen after restoring to the custom 3.1.3 firmware from 4.1 and has baseband 6.15.0. Any suggestions??? I tried ireb, tinyumbrella, and restoring again. Itunes goes through the whole restoring process and when it should be rebooting instead I just get a black screen.

really nice guide .. but i far as i know snowbreeze dosent work with mac, so you can only do the custom firmware on a windows pc, no mac users can restore like you show in the video unless they create the custom firmware on a widows pc and them move it to the mac

I have followed the clip all the way to step 7 (almost the end) when I got error 1015. Some folks say to use iREB to get out, but out of where? Wondering if I do use iREB, then what to do next? Do I have to restart from the beginning?

To check what type of Boot-loader you have, Go to cydia and Install FUZZY-BAND, then reboot and when you open the app it will tell you if you have 5.08 Bootrom. I will add a link in the discription showing you how to do this GOOD LUCK

I Dont Believe That This Fixes The Gps Problems, i Do know though that if you have a 5.08 bootrom that you can actually downgrade your baseband back to an earlier version and then re unlock with ultrasn0w and you would have GPS back.

I got all the way to I tunes but then it downloaded the firmware into I tunes and I tunes upgraded it So I re downloaded it and tryed to do sift restore and it said it was not compatible. What did I do wrong?

(MrMegaPro100) Did you tell Redsn0w that you were on 4.2.1 firmware before you put it into pwned dfu mode (even if you are not really on 4.2.1), if you didn't iTunes wont be able to restore to a custom rom..
