The Iowa State Patrol has released the names of four of the six people killed Saturday in a multi-vehicle accident on Interstate 80 in Jasper County near Colfax. Spokeswoman Courtney Greene says it appears that 19-year-old Do Taw fell asleep at the wheel of a westbound minivan about 11:15 a.m., hit a semi and crossed the median. I was first on sceen for a fatal head on in my little home town, big railroad truck hit head on with a small 4 door car, the passenger was killed on impact and the driver died shortly after his care flight ... the driver of the truck walked away. The fact of being first to see and calling 911 and EMS knowing that 1 was dead and driver had little to no chance has loomed over the way I drive to this day.

FYI, in all of Iowa there is ALWAYS an EMS response to an MVA with injuries or the possibility thereof. Just because the ambulances had left the scene prior to you driving by it does not mean there wasn't a response. This crash was just east of my agency and I personally know that fire and EMS from two different agencies responded to this, probably nearly an hour before you drove by.

@bvoss600. i was not just making an assumption there was no response. i read the report after and saw the news report as well both vouching the no EMS response because it is not needed when the initial assessers pronounced them dead. i have family in the EMS field and they all agreed there are certain situations where that happens. not that this even matters. stupid argument.

Looks to me the van got hit from the back probably causing the driver to panic causing the car to roll over nd that would be why car pieces of the van is all over nd split apart and only front end of car is totaled couldn't have been a head on collision front van is still there the back nd side isn't

@Zmxtilt it wasn't cuz there was people wanting to slow down to see, or slowing down for emergency vehicles. We slowed down cuz I-80 was completely closed eastbound. so a tonnnn of people were getting off and turning around. overloading westbound
