@retepvosnul "da " intarnetz"? LOL..For such a person thinking her or she
has INTELLIGENT enough room to correct someone else for being a " bad
debater" you certainly need to spray away the rust that is your
communication skills. Bbonics is NOT a language. It is an incorrect
pronouncing of the english language. It is STREET and NOT "screet". IT IS
ROOF and NOT Roouuf. and you dont have a fucking clue how wise and
intelligent Pirillo is and how much of a pretty good career he's had going.
@retepvosnul LOL..you dont even know how to STAY ON SUBJECT let alone make
a point that makes ANY type of argumentative sense. and i damn sure am not
the only one on youtube that knows you're just a silly troll mr. " blah
blah..I dont run a spam company" .LOL. IM NOT GOOGLE EITHER.. nor do i care
to be. no one cares what you think. Because the only things coming out of
your trolling childish brain is BULLSHIT. it's not my responsible to
educate you kid. piss off. lol.
Portable? I installed Ubuntu 8.4 inside Vista on my desktop PC last night.
Or rather, I let it install itself. I put the disc in the drive, and it
asked me what I wanted to do. Did I want to run it from the disc, install
it, or what? I clicked to install, and it said, did I want to install it
inside Windows? I clicked yes. The system was up and running approximately
35 mins later. An idiot could do it. £3.99 instead of £170.00? ;-)
Why would you want to run Linux on Windows. Windows is the most vulnerable
one when it comes to security/viruses/malware etc. So just run Windows
inside Linux virus can't leave virtual program. Do your day to day banking
& online shopping in the main os (Linux), and do your porn / games / and
adware programs on windows virtually run inside linux. Anything goes wrong
just wipe the sucker clean, and your banking details are safe.
@darkalligator Actually, linux hasn't been erased if you load linux and
then windows. The only thing windows did was to overwrite your master boot
record. This is easy to fix. You put in an ubuntu CD or USB and boot from
that. Then you chroot the linux partition that on your hard drive. Then you
re-run the grub installer. Viola, your linux is back. Only takes about 2
minutes if you know what you are doing.
No advantage in this case, If you simply ran linux, You would gain many
advantages such as security, OS Speed, Customization, It never crashes.
There is one major disadvantage tho, Due to Microsoft's greed, DirectX is
not avaliable for linux, And so games are not ported to linux as its more
trouble than its worth. If DirectX was on Linux, Who in their right mind
would use windows?
iyanome Virtual Box will work for windows but when you run windows on the
Virtual Box you wont be ably to play 3d games on it. as in wont work as
fast and all. thats what are tech person told me for he has tried it did
not work. i did to and it didn't work. but any ways i love Ubuntu didn't
have to pay one cent for it. plus no virus or spy ware and all that other
crap.
only down side, can't play windows based games in linux, now! if they get
rid of this disadvantage, they would make a daring case for windows. well
not only with windows based game's but also windows based software, im not
saying linux should go windows, just sayin, what if the could somehow get
this windows based stuf to work on there system :)
I actually have a video on that particular program, and gigafide has a
video on the same thing, but he goes over the program andLinux so there's
some good resources, and videos to checkout, plus installing software is
mentioned in the videos as well, and it's very easy. So no excuses to the
people that don't know how to install software lol.
If you have windows installed on your computer and you boot off a "Ubuntu
netbook remix" (Ubuntu for netbooks, awesome OS highly reccomended) live
CD, and go to install it gives you the option to install Ubuntu side by
side with windows. it partitions everything and installs a bootloader for
you. It's really cool.
Yes, without Wubi, I would still be saying "What's Linux?" Wubi is THE
BOMB, especially because if you screw up your Ubuntu install you just open
Windows and uninstall it like a program from the control panel. I LOVE
Wubi, it's SO much easier and better than the traditional partitioning and
GRUB method. WUBI FTW!
Take displayconfig-gtk (it is atleast in Ubuntu 8.04) sudo
displayconfig-gtk change resolution etc... Then update changes in
System--->Settings --->Screens I did this operation to my very old computer
this summer and it worked. I could change resolution from 800x640 to
1280x1054 (my screen)
Wubi is the prefferred method of installing Ubuntu on a Windows It's sooooo
easy my 5 year old niece could do it Before installing Ubuntu, I'd
recommend partitioning your hard drive, so one partition in running Windows
and the other Ubuntu. Just run Wubi following the directions and prompts.
The 3.99 was just the cost of the cd and postage. I could have downloaded
if for nothing. And, as far as I know the open source ethos is that it's
free to use and do with what you will, not that it should be free to aquire
from a supplier. There's no such thing as a free lunch. ;-)
@retepvosnul He's helped more people in his life than you can hope you've
had time to pitifully insult for halfass justified reasons. Piss off troll.
If you don't like looking at Pirillo's videos THEN DON'T CLICK ON THEM!
There's your sign you dee dee deeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
please tell us what is the hardware that doesn't work. And remember that
Ubuntu can't install drives on the live CD, and that is why the live cd
experience is never enough. Most graphics cards need proprietary drivers
that ubuntu will only install in a harddrive installation.
No GPL states they can charge for media and handling charges. You can
charge for the CD and even the time it takes to make it. All of that is
covered by the GPL. Besides When they say free that does not mean
necessarily free as in free beer. More like free as in free speech.
While linux takes a little more effort to get set up, Once it is, Theres no
reinstalling windows every 5 seconds, Or reinstalling drivers etc. Once
it's up, Its up for good. To me that is far more important than a little
inconvenience at the begining.
How to Run Windows Programs in Linux
In this video I show you how to install wine and winetricks so you can run those windows programs in linux. Click to never miss an upload: //full.sc/1biuKjg ...
hi Kingofslowmo, im new to linux and followed your instructions, after i
typed "sudo apt-get install wine1.7" it says "E: unable to correct
problems, you have held broken packages". can you please tell me what to
do???? thanks
This video will show you how you can run almost any Linux only program as if it were a Windows program. You will need a program called andLinux (freeware) ...
I'm a huge linux fan but i would have to disagree, and agree at the same
time, most linux applications do not take the full power out of the
graphics processor unit because as of yet they don't have a linux dedicated
high performance graphics cards, and the current ones are mainly directx of
opengl native and linux cant use DirectX because microsoft copyrighted the
software to windows. My point is if you run windows applications in linux
they cant take control of many of the features of DirectX.
@cofusion9 Well, Wubi can be a bit confusing. While you can easily
uninstall Linux (that you used Wubi to get) from "Add or Remove Programs",
Wubi DOES run Linux on your computer. So it runs as a operating system,
though installs and uninstalls just like a normal program. At least, I
think that's how it works... So actually, yeah, this is a PROGRAM that runs
Linux programs (right?) WITHOUT having to reboot your system and boot up
Linux from Wubi.
@TheFricikinTRuth2 Actually i know the win32 API pretty good, and if you
would know it as good as I you never had say this ;).. o.K directx 10 (by
the way 11 is the newest version) is a windows spec. IF you are a
programmer you would preffer linux anyway.. Also you can create awesome
graphics in Linux, BUT then you really have to know how to programm, and
don't use any preprogrammed shit ! I think you don't really know what you
where saying ?!
@creepilycreepy1 You know the Video is 2 Years old heh ? 2 Years in the
Linux Update World are 20 Years in the Windows World ;).. If you are SMART
enough to use linux, you can do a heck more than in Windows. In linux you
can control everythink !!!!!! Maybe with "a few hoops more than in Windows"
but in WIndows you clearly can't control everythink ! And with the MP3
Codec, the only differnece is that Windows preinstalled the codecs....
@iron888888 I personally use Linux. Mine was able to do everything "out of
the box". Now see here is the issue with windows, if you want to get a good
movie editing program it costs you around $500USD, unless you brake the
law. Now in Linux, there is a community is near 20,000,000. With all these
users a lot of them create software that other Linux users can use. Also we
are not bound by law even before we turn the computer on.
@TazeTSchnitzel i have a alienware m17x that came with a nvida 260m, when
installing this card's drivers there is something with in the drivers
called physx that is blocking this mode from working when i was installing
these drivers over again i just simply left that physx out and installed
the rest and worked fine dont know what other graphics cards have that can
be blocking seemless mode but the info should help another
this is kinda cool but I'm thinking that looks really busy. the only thing
i need windows for these days is for games and i would not want to run
another windows manager of any type on that computer(i already have
performance issues). i will stick to using VPC for distribution testing.
nice demonstration anyhow.
It only runs programs supported for Ubuntu meeting all the same
dependencies and conflicts that ubuntu based distros of the same version
would so not every linux applications will run, not because of
incompatibility problems but because some programs will enter in conflict
with junks of the directory tree.
sucksx cuz u cant run this for 64 bit user and ima 64bit user and been
trying 2 do this for a while i use virtual box cuz of the seemless mode but
aircrack-ng runs slow when receving packets so its a lost for me both ways
around i wonder if anybody knows how 2 fix that problem in virtualbox
@TazeTSchnitzel now i use virtualbox and run it seemless mode runs face
being that i updated my ram and running a raid 0 config on my hard drives
just one thing is if u want to run seemless mode in virtualbox be sure ur
graphics card doesnt block it like nvida using FX
can you do a tutorial about running linux application in Windows 7? the
tutorial you created about this is not effective in Vista and 7. the
tutorial you made was created in WindowsXP environment and that maybe
applicable only in XP. this is a favor dude.
@TazeTSchnitzel in this case im runing ubuntu in vmware ive read some forms
maybe could have been something diff named but anywaysz this was the issue
and the result after was fixed i will look for the form again to get the
exact name of this
i fix problem ... it not hard ... just enable sharing on your internet
connection .i have ADSL connection and i share that to TAP-Colinux ... and
restart computer ... now works cool ... easy ;) no more error
It'd be easier if you just set up a virtual machine and install a Linux
Distribution there. This program is like WINE for Linux, just inverted, so
some programs won't run, ya know. Just sayin'
So likely andLinux is worthless. Instead, just use KDE for Windows! It
emulates the same thing, and it works with 64-bit! Thumbs up this comment
so everybody can see! Enjoy!
I have Ubuntu on my computer. So I use wine to run Windows applications on
it. but sadly neither of these methods are quite the same. Nice video
anyways.
@JAYJAY1787 How amusing. On Linux 64-bit I can run 32-bit Windows Apps, but
on Windows 64-bit you can't run 32-bit Linux apps? :P

I am trying to get bitdefender for unices setup on my ubuntu system x64 and
with no luck. I can't launch the setup file i marked as executable on
desktop ( bitdefender ) and i can't seem to find the page to get the free
home user code? PLEASE HELP ME ! Im still fairly new to linux and can't
stand windows Mr. Spatry!
@bigvirgotube Vineyard is a configuration utility for wine. It uses more
processing power than other front ends but I did not notice performance
issues since it just launches your Wind0ze executables and runs
transparently in the background.
If there is only one .bin or .run file, you can just 'chmod +x *.bin' or
'chmod +x *.run' then './*.bin' or './*.run'. Little simplier than typing
the exact file name or copy/paste imo.
Visit the WINEHQ website. Type in the exact name of the software you wish
to run. You should be able to find information on the software and steps
that were taken to get it working.
HI boss i want to install download studio in linux backbox Search this tool

I am running CLAM TK antivirus which you can get from your repository. I
use FFMPEG from the command line for screencasting. You can search my
channel for a video on that.
what the hell...i can't install anything in vineyard...not from browsing
the .exe files...not from the list of programs...the instalation starts and
neeeeeeeeever ends...
alternatively what do you use software wise for your youtube podcasts you
create? I was thinking of starting up my own channel reviews section on
here?
+DLComYou miss understood what I said. You pass through your dedicated GPU to the Windows HVM, and use your integrated (or second GPU if you have one) for the host Xen Linux OS.
+Trojan BlazefyreYes, "integrated cpu graphics". Thats not a real graphics card, thats just the little chip on the cpu the pc uses when it finds no graphics card. Its not able to run games as fast as a real gpu.
+Trojan BlazefyreIn a game? I don't think so. In desktop appications maybe. But most vms do not even use a graphics card and when they do, they are not able to use DirectX natively, so most Windows Games will run slow as heck.
I like to play World of Warcraft and on Windows 7 it runs fairly smooth but
on Linux/Wine it is a lot more laggy, is there something I'm missing? Is
there something I can do to reduce lag on wine?
+Clarence Washington IV Short answer is no. Developers aren't concentrated on Linux versions of their games and that is sad since steam OS could have been better than its current state.
