If they weren't fighting for white supremacy, why did they say they were during and why did they treat freed slaves which such contempt after the war? It was commonly held idea both north and south that black people were a separate and inferior race. Diaries, speeches and newspapers before and during the war showed that the south was repulsed by the idea of equality and felt that slavery was the best things for blacks.

When Texas left the union it issued a deceleration of secession. In the document it said it was leaving to protect slavery and white supremacy. Texas' Confederate constitution banned anyone emancipating their slaves so slaves in Texas were slaves for life. It's good that the battle flag plate was voted down. A symbol that hateful has no place on anything.

I'll agree with you that the south needed slavery to survive and it was natural it would go out to defend it, even if this is the case it was still a war to preserve human bondage. Texas clearly stated it was also fighting to preserve a white supremacist society. I don't these causes are worthy enough to warrant the CSA battle flag on a license plate.

I have no problem with people wanting to honor their ancestors but these plates will carry the symbol of a nation that was created to preserve slavery and white supremacy. They also carry a symbol that was an enemy of the USA.

+prometheamoth treesparrow Thanks for your comment! We definitely weren't hungry by the end of the week but having purchased very few spices and seasonings, our meals had to be pretty basic.. Over time, you can purchase more seasonings and spices instead of just salt and pepper! We were using the average amount given for ONE individual, so benefits would be different depending on household size.

its really pretty sad how easy it is to get a class m license in the U.S. all it took for me was a motorcycle safety course, they gave me a certificate at the end, and the mva gave me my license. And you can start on any size bike you want. the test was extremely easy too.

+camarojoe982 Damn, I would say I'm jealous, but I know it would mean even more idiots on the road in the UK :P I wouldn't mind being able to have a 250cc at 17 though, 125's just don't have the acceleration i want past about 45mph
