Good Question! and thx for asking.... Dorian has used squats many times
during his Mr. Olympia days. As he has aged the spine/ lower back has taken
a beating from all the heavy squats he has performed over the decades. The
leg Press takes most all the pressure off of the lower back and is much
safer and less painful. Much can be gained from the Leg Press especially if
you have any lower back problems i.e bulging or herniated discs, like
Ronnie Coleman had, and used the leg press to his advantage
Dude! white people don't want to ne Negros, Trust me on that. As I said,
Book yourself in for some kind of help. Were I live many people date each
other from different background we got black guys who date white girls and
black girls date white guys, along with other folks who date and marry. We
live as one, Seriously, Go spew your HATE, somewere else, if you want to
know whats wrong with this world then go look in the mirror, the answer
will be starring right at you. YOUR A RASCIST BRO:
Hey thanks for the comment! 1/2 reps on the leg press are merely one way to
hoist the weight , "Safety first" is Dorians focus here, notice how he goes
to great lengths to explain warming up and stretching? He cares a lot about
helping us get into great shape. Most all injuries occur during the Full
Rep of any exercise, when there is too much weight. 1/2 reps and 1/4 reps
allow for more control over a heavier weight and are much less problematic
for the lower back and the knee joints.
I think a lot of leading coaches would disagree with you there. The shear
force on the knee joint is greatest at the beginning of the movement, doing
half reps is generally more dangerous than full ROM, especially as it
allows you to lift extreme amounts of weight. Although I agree with you
that half reps can be safer for the lower back if flexibility is an issue,
I think advising inexperienced lifters to do them isn't a great idea. Full
reps performed correctly are usually safer.
Do you know a guy called "BlackfreemasonSuck"? He got his you tube chanel
shut down for preaching the same shit you preaching, Do yourself a favour,
Get your personel issues fixed You Tube really is not the place for folks
like you. they should get all those white folk who are hating on everyone,
and all you black rascist, and put you all an an island together. that way
you can all hate on each other. Your just a Hitler with black skin, no
difference in ALL you rascist folk.
Thx for the comment! Your coach is right , putting the bar back a little
further on the shoulder blades places the linear movement of the bar closer
to the center, as you squat the weight is more centered and balanced hence
the reason you get more leverage and can handle more weight. Plus its safer
taking the bar off of the neck/spine area;) Try some 1/4 rep squats, you'll
be able to handle even more weight and build some serious strength....
Hey I want to know if my squats are productive, I've always squatted with
the bar on my neck area but I feel like I get a better form with the bar
about 1/2 to 3/4ths up my shoulder blades so just bellow my shoulder. It
makes my chest stick out and I can lift much more with this since its more
comfortable, my friends tell me its too much even tho when I asked my coach
he said squatting with the bar lower is fine.
I think this workout could be a little better especially on form because
their not even going that deep on leg press and stiff legged dead lifts
should be lighter weight. Eventually he put three plates on there and his
back started arching. Deeper reps are also better for your joints and i
understand hes preaching safety but if they go deep on leg press its not
like hell injure himself if hes properly spotted.

+Steven Bravo Change up the reps/sets to start, that will give you the biggest impact. For example, you've been doing 3 sets of 5 for awhile, start doing 4 sets of 10-12 reps. Once you plateau you can start changing up things like exercise selection, rest periods, training days etc.
+Felipe Vasquez Your glutes even without focusing on them throughout a squat are heavily involved in them so to target your quads you really have to get that mind muscle connection and focus on the way down the stretch and contract your quads as hard as you can on the way back up. It depends on your stance (width) depth bar position (high bar/low bar) etc try front squats but don't lock out at the top keep the movement going
@vince delmonte is it ok if do this workout twice a week Sunday and
Thursday? Please let me know. And for how long I should continue doing this
workout?
I've gotten advice that intense workouts should be short, ideally no more
than 40 mins. ('You can train long or train intense but it's impossible to
train both.') With the long rest periods you're suggesting, how long does
the workout last?
Because this is strength training and not hypertrophy, your central nervous system gets fried so if the end up only having 30 seconds rest then their form will f**k up on the next set. However you make up for this by doing many sets (typically 8 or more). Give strength trading a go mate and you won't regret it. :)

+Zach Nagle No kidding. Maybe that's why bodybuilding isn't accepted into the mainstream media? To be the best you can be, you have to use drugs illegally? Really? Drugs are the only possible way to be the best you can be? Wow. There's no other way except illegal drug use. Amazing. Only thing I can say is have fun with the medical side of it after you're done. High cholesterol, high blood pressure, enlarged hearts, etc.. Good job, you destroyed your body. It's ok though, everybody got to look at you.
+bs2455 Because he puts himself out there. When you put yourself out there, don't expect everyone to comment positively when you use steroids and lift weights.
Phil Heath did look amazing in 2011 and maybe 12 and deserved those
Olympias but what I've noticed is that each time we see him in contest
shape his physique had decayed from what it was last year. Kai on the other
hand just somehow keeps on getting better. Not hating just saying what I
see :)
