Is Microsoft's Outlook.com Better Than Gmail?
Today Microsoft launched outlook.com, the much needed refresh of its lackluster Hotmail service. Is Microsoft's take on email enough to dethrone your go-to mail ...
.DOCS XLS. SOME PDFs will not work or open .... some people may say try
doing this or that and it may work..... But why the hell should i have to
become a bloody computer geek in order to open something that worked just
fine before Outcome of the whole ENFORCED BLOODY conversion to outlook by
MICROSOFT is that I'm looking for alternatives to ALL MICROSOFT programs..
MICROSOFT have TOTALLY PISSED ME OF .WANKERS. OUTLOOK IS NOT GOOD AT ALLL
Looking nice is no good if it doesn’t work
It looks NOTHING like Gmail back in the day. Firstly, it's ten times wider
than Gmail. Second, they dind't have popup-popin chat back in the day.
Third, they never had tiled web option toolbards. Third, they never had
such cool compose box. Now Gmail is not over-complex, it's just simply
simpler... Chat-based compose mail now, and such. I prefer Outlook. But the
only thing that reminds me of Gmail is the white background.... That's
about it.
Sorry, here is where moving to outlook will be so hard. 1) gchat, SUPERB 2)
google labs, PWN BIAAATCH 3) labels CONVINIENT 4) gmail tasks USEFUL 5)
great contacts app GOOD 6) google calendar integration GREAT 7) gmail imap
NICE 8) control multiple google email accounts from one BOSS 9) google
voice integration AMAZING 10) gmail filters USEFUL Outlook looks nice, but
gmail is SOOOO MUCH BETTER.
Microsoft outlook logged onto one of my other email accounts and bypassed
the password ...then change hotmail to outlook without permission and it
pissed me right off, so much so that I’m changing to another .... many of
my excel mailings from other users will not open under outlook so it is of
NO USE WHAT SO EVER to accounting type people.... NO USE AT ALL TO PEOPLE
WHO DO ACCOUNTS
when i switched from hotmail to gmail 6 years ago it was because of
storage, spam and user interface. there was a compelling reason to switch.
i don't see a compelling reason to switch from gmail to outlook. although
outllook.com UI looks pretty the problem is that gmail already looks pretty
and does everything and more (way way more) than what you mentioned in the
video.
I prefer Outlook as well to Gmail. I hope to see them add more features in
the upcoming features. In fact I know they will, just wonder when. How do
you get GChat to work? I see they have it, but can't see Google Chat
contacts online.. No biggue. Theme background would also be nice instead of
just the top bar theme. But anyway, I still prefer Outlook.
Reminds me of Gmail back in the day... I got my Gmail in 2004 and has
changed from a simple design to an overly complex layout. Case in point:
nat dot org / 2004 / may / gmail . png A far cry from what Gmail is today.
I like what Microsoft has been doing with all their products. They're
integrating them all together. Computers, tablets, phones, emails, cloud,
and game system.
You forgot to mention that instead of a 25 Megabyte attachment file for
each e-mail, it's been raised to 300 Megabytes. And the inbox has unlimited
storage.
PS, Google would only let me add this comment if I used my full actual name
as on Google + rather than a non de plume or nickname.Pity big brother's
