any problems with having such high milage?

The transmission was leaking when I first bought it but that was it. The car runs great still and gets good mpg's too. The transmission is leaking again though. I missed something and it's so annoying to have to drop it again.

if you are still having a lot of play after you change the linkage, it is the shifter I am sure of it. The bushings in the shifter are worn I have the same problem with my 99civic em1, replace the shifter with maybe the K tuned shifter I just grabbed one and I'm about to install it, you should have no play after wards

You can disassemble the u-joint and use a combination of washers and a new bolt but that's about it. Swapping the linkage is very easy if you can find one in great shape still.

Hello Jon, I have a 95 civic coupe linkage an was planning to swap it into a crx, I was wondering how did the tranny behave with that linkage? Thanks in advance

It felt exactly the same. When I compared the 2 different linkage they had the exact same bends. The EG linkage was just a little longer. Since I cut mine too short, the shifter sits a little farther back than before but I do not even notice it now and it is almost even easier since it is closer to my arm now.

Yes, original d15b2 engine. I bought it from the 2nd owner. He bought the wagon in 98 from the original owner with 110,000 miles on it. I bought this on October 2013.

Shifter bushing

Here is a quick vid of the rubber bushing in the shifter assy for the "fore and aft" shifts. This bushing is the SOFTEST bushing in the entire shifter assembly.
