I have a 1997 honda civic ex stickshift , I was having problems with my starter, I took it to autozone to get my starter check and they said it was bad, so I bought a ...
Mine is doing something similar but with even less power. New fuel pump,
new battery, new alternator, I figure it's gotta be starter or ignition
switch right? God this is fucking annoying lol I've been stuck in a walmart
parking lot right now, luckally I don't live too far. It's been 2 days fuck
lol. Idk what to do man -_-
Since it is making a grinding noise it is probably the connection the
starter is making to the engine via the gear, it probably needs to be
shimmed to make a better gear connection
I have a 96 accord doing the same thing. Just replaced alternator and
battery about 200 miles ago. And oil 40 miles ago. I assumed starter. Have
u figured it out yet?
Unfortunately, my vehicle is a automatic. But what i just remembered is a
company i once worked for would put fuel pump kill switches on the vehicles
for anti theft purposes. They behave exactly the same when you do not
engage the fuel pump. does absolutely nothing when you turn the key. Unlike
some of the post I have read on a similar issue (car not starting and
stalling issue. ignition switch), this issue doesn't cause the car to stall
while driving. If you start the vehicle and turn off the fuel pump, it
continues to run just fine. Perhaps this issue is a fuel pump issue?
Regardless, i hope my issue just goes away as yours did.
I has that same problem with my Acura and it was the ignition switch, at
least you were somewhere safe mine failed while I was driving in GA traffic
on the highway!!! ok imagine that and the Acura dealership was 16 miles
from where I was!! I researched it online that night at acurazine an acura
forum and i took it upon myself to get the ignition switch from an auto
store and asked a mechanic to put it in for me...its ok now but im
monitoring the situation...check out the Recalls on the car!
I have an 04 Acura tl & I think the starter went out on it but I'm not too
sure. I went to turn on my car the other day & as I turned the key to turn
on the car it didn't start & I heard a whistling noise sounded like a plane
landing coming from the starter it made that noise till it drained my
battery dead now my car don't start at all. Anyone know what it is??? NEED
HELP ASAP!!
2008 Type S here; have owned mine a couple months now and it's nearly
always started fine but now the only problem I'm seeing is that it seems
like it's stressing the battery to start the car. All the lights on the
cluster flash on and off for a few seconds while cranking until the car
starts. Supposed to be a new battery in the car too
I didn't end up replacing anything, it didn't happen for the longest time
until about a month ago one time. I just stepped on the clutch hard a few
times and the car started again. Stepping on the clutch hard is what my
mechanic recommended to do. I think replacing or by passing the clutch
switch will fix the problem. cheers
I highly recommend research Consumer reports and look up used Acura TL
then, click reliability, you will notice as you read down the list that the
2008 Acura TL doesn't have a good electrical system at all. Just trying to
help.
my 07 TL. did this shit last year dealer said they fixed it and the problem
was the fuse box.... And it's been fine for a year then it started to do it
again once it got cold again and sits for a day or more... smh.. help
Flashing on and off doesnt seem normal, doesnt happen to me. Mine stays on
which i think is how it should be. Maybe your battery is not really new.
Gon on tl forums and ask or charge or get a new battery . Good luck
I've since changed the battery, removed the many keys attached to my
keychain which is bad for the ignition, and it has stopped. It might still
be the starter like everyone says, but until it happens again, I am good.
MrFung, did replacing the "clutch switch" solve the problem? My 2006 Tl
just started doing this. My battery is in good shape, I replaced the
starter and I am still having the same issue.
it never just died on me while the car was running . it just didn't start .
I didn't change anything does not happen anymore . keep ur keychain small
otherwise it can hurt your ignition
My 2006 TL JUST started doing the same thing but not as bad. Only does that
1 out of 10 times. Will it get worse? It's an automatic too, I hope it
doesn't set me back too much money.
99 Honda Prelude ignition starter problem. I had to replace the passenger-side headlights but had to take out the battery to do so. The next day I drive to work ...
