Thank you so much, I am a new wig wearer due to the horrible water in my M-I-L's house.. moved in to keep her out of assisted living.. I ended up with carpel tunnel surgery and my dyed blonde hair was toast in less than 3 months.. :-( So now into just over a month of wearing a Jaclyn Smith wig... Sandra in #14/88A the same color I got with just dying my roots for 2 years and no problems... I found the ends got all funny and bunchy, you really helped me out and saved me a lot of money, Thanks!!

When you started brushing the wet wig I nearly had a heart attack. That can damage the fibers. stretching, breaking, ripping them out... I would probably suggest you wait for it to dry properly, then comb it with a wide-tooth comb to reduce the amount of damage to the wig. After that you can use the spray bottle to dampen it to do this technique.

Thank you for this video. You have a very nice speaking voice and communicate the steps really well! My daughter has worn costume wigs and damaged them pretty well. I'd like to resell the costumes with the wigs and would like to have the wigs be in good condition first. Thanks again!

Thank you for watching and for commenting. However, I have found that tangles are much more easily remedied while the synthetic fibers are still wet. As long as you work carefully, starting at the ends and working up to the roots, there should be no issue.

I am loving this series that you are doing on how to revive these wigs. I already saved your first one in my favs but i cant wait to try this one out. I usually throw out the synthetic ones. Hopefully this will save me some money : ) Thanks for sharing!

@nitraab Yes, actually I have done this with a curly synthetic as well. It was more of a body wave, though, not a very tight curl. I used a variable temp curling iron on a low setting with the spray bottle of water, and it worked fairly well.

Thanks for sharing, I wish I could revive my lace front I just took off that my grandbaby got hold of it and put it in her potty Lol she hadnt used it, it just had water in it so....yep lol

I never sleep in my synthetics, that is one of the fastest ways to ruin them. I would definitely recommend that you take it off at nite. Even wrapping it up does not prevent the damage.

It really depends on how often you wear the wig and the original quality of the wig. With this method I have kept my "Mariah" wig for over a year and still going, with moderate use.

Grea video! Now that I think of it when I was a child I had an Aunt who wore wigs ans when they got beat uo she took them to a wig shop to restyle. So I guess thai is what they did.

I know this is an old video but you did an amazing job. What temp was the blow dryer on? Was your water hot at all times? Did the flexi rods have to dry completely?

+catmo59 Thank you. In the video, I noted I used hot water (for every step using water). In the description box I discussed the warm/hot setting should be used for units that can withstand such temperatures. And the flexi rods do need to dry about 95% in order to set the curl

Honestly I never got a chance to see how long this wig would last me... If you look through my other video's you'll see that I ruined it trying to flat iron it and I threw it away... But Honestly I think this wig could have easily stayed very nice for at least 2 months (Maybe even 3 if you really took care of it)
