well ok, he didn't jump, he didn't lift his elbow and didn't come full force on him to kill the guy but...anyone who thinks he didn't intend to make sure Halpern's face would smash the glass is clearly retarded or never played hockey :P that was not suspension worthy for sure, but it definitely was a penalty (altho they didn't call it), i guess they had to make up for the terrible call he got on Gorges :P which was a clean hit IMO

@NHLArchive This hit was more dirty and deserved two minutes (at least) than the hit he put on Georges. I've seen hit that where weaker and people got suspended for them (Look at plekanec's hit on Grebeshkov last year where pleks got suspended 2 games). The league really needs to make more clear cut rules on what is worth suspensions. (I would not go that far on this hit, but he deserved 2 minutes at least)

@PhillyPhunk yeah yeah yeah, Philly beat montreal, BUT it took 68 shots by the Flyers to get a goal on Price AND we are still 5-3 in terms of goals..... Anyways I just love that rivalry, always great games to watch, even greater since the arrival of Subban.... I can't say that I like the Flyers, but I like Habs-Flyers games ;)

How this wasn't a penalty is beyond me. He hits him right above the numbers. Halpern didn't turn into the hit and was in a very vulnerable position. And that was the second questionable hit of the night for Powe, the first being earlier when he got the elbow up on the Montreal player.

@NHLArchive But that doesnt mean that this hit was not dirty. It was a check from behind that hit Halpern right in the head. Look at the replay and its clear. It didnt need to be a hard hit to knock Halpern down due to the fact that he hit him from behind.

Apparently no one knows the rules of the sport. Powe got away with a couple of suspendable offenses in this game. So much for the league being tough on the Flyers, they let one get away with a pair of them in that game. Last I looked, charging, elbowing and hitting from behind weren't legal even when Philly does it.

@HackRProd How can you say clearly an elbow? And he never even hit his head? Referee was in a bad position and made a bad call. It happens they are human and only trying to do their job but everyone makes mistakes.

in real time it looks like an elbow hit ... slow motion its shoulder to shoulder contact, since the ref cant see shit in slow motion, 2min penalty doesnt see like a "HORRIBLE penalty call"

I am american, I love hockey, favorite movie is the boondock saints, favorite cars are imports, favorite food is chinese, pineapples are the shit, and I'm a mix of a few races. Lets see here, Philadelphia is one of the most productive hockey markets outside of Canada. It was actually picked ahead of Detroit by ESPN. Where are you from, and what sport do you watch? I'm expecting football or basketball. I love those sports too, but hockey is easily my favorite. You will never get it coming from some shit redneck state, as I suspect you are. Cool it with the American shit. I just defended the sport. That dick iluvyourmom is not a reflection on all Americans. Its a pretty popular sport in the Midwest and the Northeast. They fight in training camp for a few reasons (its happend quite a few times). 1-They just get pissed at eachother and drop the gloves 2- Young guy trying to show his value to the team 3- Possibly to put a player who is out of line back in his place 4 there is other reasons as well, but the thing to remember is that, in hockey you can fight a guy, and then go grab a drink with him after the game, most of the time no grudge is held, and things are left on the ice.

when i played junior hockey we had probably an average of one fight every two or so weeks at practice. when guys had beef coach encouraged us to go. i fought my old roommate one day. when it's all said and done, the guys have more respect for each other and the coach has a better of idea of who is willing to walk the walk

Primeau had one of the best playoff runs anyone has ever seen in Philadelphia. The last few games he played with a serious concusion. The guy was awesome. Kind of a late bloomer.
