Gwen and a lot of female artist today, always refer to Madonna as their favourite artist growing up. Madonna is an icon, and most artist hope that there career can last as long as Madonna.

Japan | Harajuku Adventure | I Don't Even Know What Half This Is…
A friend and I discover all sorts of silly surprises (and look like idiots trying to figure out what a few things are) in Harajuku, Tokyo. How to pronounce Harajuku ...
Wow, what a kind thing to say! You should definitely stick around, because
Harajuku is even cooler in the summer, and I'm planning a big shopping trip
soon :D And as far as a dream destination, I promise Japan does not
disappoint. My advice? Set a goal for three, five years down the line.
Figure out how much it will cost to get you here and do what you want to
do. Make a cute jar or create a savings account and save up. I guarantee in
five years, you'll wish you had.
I'm 13 and already saving to go to Japan someday. I'm learning Japanese and
Korean (cuz I wanna go there to) and I'm really fascinated by Asian
culture. Just wanted to say thanks for posting this because now I'm even
more motivated to try my hardest to make it there someday
Other options are looking into your local study-abroad programs. Community
Colleges often offer great deals on things like that. There is also a great
need for English teachers here, and training is fairly simple! I've known a
number of people who were paid to come here :)
Then you're probably not Japanese. Folks around here emphasize the RA in
haRAjuku. Most Americans say it wrong, with the emphasis on JU in haraJUku.
I used to say it like that until a local corrected me.
Haha, awesome! Shortly after I made this video I saw another set of them in
a game center in Yokosuka. Haven't had the chance to use one yet though.
Perhaps I should put it on my list XD

You think that we connect
That the chemistry's correct
Your words walk right through my ears
Presuming I like what I hear
And now I'm stuck in the
The web you're spinning
You've got me for you prey
[Pre-chorus:]
(Yeah) Sorry I'm not home right now
I'm walking into spiderwebs
So leave a message
And I'll call you back
A likely story, but (Yeah) leave a message
And I'll call you back
You're intruding on what's mine
And you're taking up my time
Don't have the courage inside me
To tell you, "Please let me be"
Communication, a telephonic invasion
I'm planning my escape...
[Pre-chorus]
[Chorus:]
And it's all your fault
I screen my phone calls
No matter who calls
I gotta screen my phone calls
Now it's gone to deep (Now, it's gone too deep)
You wake me in my sleep (Wake me in my sleep)
My dreams become nightmares (Dreams become nightmares)
'Cause you're ringing in my ears
[Pre-chorus]
[Chorus]
Oooh, the spiderwebs
Leave a message and I'll call you back
I'm walking into spiderwebs
So, leave a message and I'll call you back
I'm walking into spiderwebs
It's all your fault, no matter who calls
I gotta screen my phone calls
It's all your fault, it's all your fault
No matter who calls, no matter who calls
I'm walking into spiderwebs so,
Leave a message and I'll call you back
I'm walkin into spiderwebs
Leave a message and I'll call you back
Ooh, it's all your fault
No matter who calls
I gotta screen my phone call
It's all your fault
No matter-matter-matter who calls
I screen my phone calls
[Fading:]
I'm walkin into spiderwebs
Leave a message and I'll call you back
+Igor Grigo If i choose, I can actually hear "Scream my thongs off" rather than "Screen my phone calls" since that was that I thought the lyrics were for a long time.
+Steve Dwyer (TheCARS1979) Madness are still huge today, they co-headlined Nomad festival in 1998 alongside No Doubt at the latter's request. You will probably know One Step Beyond, Our House, or It Must Be Love when you hear them. The Specials are perhaps most famous for Ghost Town, which has appeared in all sorts of movies, and the aforementioned Message to you Rudi.
lol thanks, Im not sure if i heard of the Madness, they were probably popular in mid 86, around the time i first heard Simple Minds. I heard of No Doubts Similarities to Depeche Mode. I know i heard of the Specials.
+Steve Dwyer (TheCARS1979) I appreciate that (They were also influenced by Prince and Depeche Mode) but my point was in relation to your comparison to the ska-pop sound of The Tide is High. It is a cover of an old rocksteady tune, a sound not too dissimilar to Madness, which according to Gwen is No Doubt's biggest influence. Check out A Message to you Rudi by the Specials, another ska band they claim as a major influence - the sound isn't a million miles away from The Tide is High. Also the lead singer of the Specials, Terry Hall, appears in the video for No Doubt's Sunday morning. I'm just trying to suggest some musical reasons as to why you can hear that specific Blondie track in No Doubt's sound. :)
That could be and i can agree but not all of the influence, because the rest of the influence was Blondie, the Police and the CARS. a band doesnt have one influence alone. No Doubt was said to influence Avril Lavigne but probably not the only one
+Steve Dwyer (TheCARS1979) That's probably because No Doubt always said they were influenced by Madness who were a ska band - check out House of Fun, Baggy Trousers (No Doubt did an early cover of this) or Our House.
