I think he is playing people. He is a salesman. He is buying low selling high and has people thinking is low middle class. One thing I have to say, BMW or Mercedes, Bentley or Rolls Royce, what a bunch of crap cars. Money sucking crap, but with a BMW there are some that are a thrill to drive and can except that, but European cars way to expensive to work on and reliability in the toilet. Moreover, they do not age well so 2 to 3 years in you are driving something no one with real money wants or impressed that you have.
