Wholly! I thought about doing the same deal with a dremmel tool before
watching this vid, plus the same exact fuel injector cocked the whole
program on mine
[How-To] Injector Removal, 300ZX Pressing out of rail
Today I will show how to press a fuel injector out of a phase 1 (Early) fuel rail using an 11mm 12point socket and a vice. Part 2 and 3 of the injector series will be ...
Hey corey, im changing my fuel rails with injectors and im thinking about
deleting the water lines but afraid it will void smogs... I am also wanting
to put dual air filters but only one air filter will have the chip and wire
connected. Will this also void smog?
Coolant bypass will not void smog. Just clean up the tb fittings to make it look clean.Dual filter w/ single MAF is useless. (That green mushroom one)True dual filter w/ MAF + Dummy MAF is crap (Old JWT setup)Go dual MAF with Selin plug-in. It's hidden and runs great, so shouldn't be an issue
so I got a used set of new style injectors in the fuel rails to replace my
failing old style injectors
what i did to get out the first 3 is to put the rail upside down in a vise,
place a 7mm socket over the plastic pintle, and give it some light (as
light as i could) taps on the socket until they popped out onto my cushion
of rags i had created to catch the injectors. now the plastic pintles were
destroyed, but thats alright because i bought some new ones, but i just
want to know if i hurt the injectors this way. im going to press the last 3
out btw
i have 87 300zx no turbo. it WAS running perfect. it came snow so it set
parked in garage. then i went to drive it i got 20 miles shut it off,
wouldnt start back, wasnt gettin fire. so left it til next morning, went
back fired up drove home. sooo now after changing distributor cap & button,
it still wont start 95% time, not getting fire. when it does start sounds
great, but ot will b running & just die as if turned key off. it runs for
4-12 mins... any suggestions b4 i set fire to it?? Any info b appreciated
@ummmmmmmok If I was you I would only bring my Z to a Z specialists. If you
do not you may end up in a bad situation with someone that does not know
what they are doing. 900 is pretty cheap for what you need done. When
taking apart the entire top of the motor and you need to know certain stuff
before doing this pull. Which most mechanics do not know. Go to a Z
specialists and you will not be sorry. If you do it yourself be prepared to
spend more than 900 becuz you are going to break something.
I have huge question, my '90 300ZX motor shakes when I start it and it
won't stop unless it moves, some mechanics told its two of the coils and a
dirty or bad injector, does that sound like it?? And I found fuel
injectors, but too expensive for me right now, but I found a Infinity J30,
which has the same engine as my 300ZX, do you know if the injectors on the
J30 can fit on my 300ZX?? I need help with my car bad, no mechanic wants to
mess with it, because they say the car is complicated :-/
yeah im about to do a swap on my own with two na engines hahaha im poor but
I got a 300zx! tt or not im still okay with it... first car and in over my
head but thats okay... some of the window mouldings or whatever you call
them are torn up and water leaks into the doors and widows. how would you
go about fixing that? the big problem with that is the actualy window strip
in between the triangle glass and the driver window. massage the O ring
hahaha
Wooo thanks alot man!! i was bought to pay the Nissan Dealership $954
dollars just to replace two fuel injectors. i figure for that price i could
replace all six myself and have some spare change left over lol.. i had
read up A LOT on how to replace them, went outside to my 93 300zx and did a
quick look see, and it seemed alot simpler than $600 worth of laborl. ol,
but your video just made it seem easy as pie. Thanks Mr. 300zxGuru, :)
Let me first start off by saying I'm a big fan of your work and videos. One
side of my exhaust is puttering while the other side is running nice and
even. Do you think it's due to misfiring? Should I unplug each injector one
by one and see if my rpms drop? I'm also thinking about cleaning my
electrical connections (CAS and PTU) what do you think?
Well my car only has 96,000km on it so I guess the valve cover gaskets will
be good. So I'll just get the injector changed the dremel way. I had a shop
around here quote me $300 to change my injector by grinding the plenum, not
including the injector, does that sound like a reasonable quote?
How difficult is it to do this for someone who doesn't have much
experience? I have a bad injector on my 90 300zx and the mechanic says it's
going to cost $900. I have friends that have experience, but before I ask,
I just want to make sure you don't need to be a "super-mech" to do this.
I have a 92 300zx and I got the 96 injectors, so i installed all of the
injectors and ll fit just fine except the number six injector, it rubs
against the fuel rail and i cant connect correctly to injector. Can I use
96 fuel rails on my 92 motor? same fit? Thanks
Hey guys I have a bad injector #6, but all the other ones are still good.
They are the stock 370cc injectors. I was told I can grind the plenum to
get at the one injector so that I don't have to pull the plenum. Just
wondering what your thoughts are on this method.
If I were you I would try to get the plenum off and then while you were in
there go ahead and swap out the valve cover gaskets. Because they are
usually leaking after 100,000 miles. But if they are not leaking then I
would try and do it the grinding way.
The fuel injectors can be replaced without removing the plenum. You'll need
to grind
the plenum down to make clearance to reach the injector bolt. It works
great and you cannot see the ground out portion.

Part two - I'm not a pro but was able to take it out easily with no struggle except with the worry of stripping the Screws head.
