This was a commercial that only aired ONE time before it was pulled because the higher-ups at Nissan thought it promoted "street racing". This commercial aired ...
+Mikel Whois It actually did air again, but long after the superbowl. I can't remember when, but I do recall seeing it a few years later. It might have been part of a documentary or something. But yeah, a great commercial.
+Mikel Whois Yes, it was only aired once and then pulled. From what I remember, it was pulled because the MTRCB (Movie and Television Review and Classification Board) believed it promoted speeding. It's still one of the best commercials ever.
+Nukes Away Dang, you beat me to it!! I was literally thinking "Best... commercial...ever." I scroll down, and there it is! A good friend of mine had one of these, the day he sold it his son cried for a week. Literally. So did I.
1990's Nissan 300ZX Commercial
1990's Nissan 300ZX Commercial with G.I. Joe, Ken and Barbie.
@Evenflow15 Cool... I remember the time I posted my first comment I think
there was no audio or something was missing due to some copyright issue
that was explained in the description section. In any case, glad it was
resolved.
@88Nightfire88 Ken is the preppy that got left back at the house. The guy
driving is a GI. Joe. Considering kids and toys, a GI Joe getting eaten by
a dino is normal. If you can't figure that you - don't bother having kids.
I remember seeing this commercial as a little kid, and thought that this
was the greatest commercial ever made. Who would have thought that Nissan
would come up with this, especially with the Z?
It's a real shame that because of some stupid copyright law regarding an
almost 20 year old commercial, people can't enjoy one of the greatest car
ads ever made.
I remember this commercial when I was young, I didn't know it was for the
Z32 till now. I wonder if this had anything to do with the fact I own one
now? TT '90
By 1986 Nissan had killed off the "Datsun" name, and were known globally as
Nissan. However, the process had started in 1983/1984 and many people still
associated Nissan with Datsun, and Z cars with Datsun. For a while after
the death of the Datsun name, Nissan continued to reference Datsun because
thats what people were familiar with. Until 1983, all Nissans were sold
under the name "datsun" in the US. And so many people perceived Nissan as
something new.
Yeah, and your mom had some "serious issues" too but a little cock lube
fixed her up just fine...smartass.. fuck you and choke on my cock "ALLOW
KARL TO FUCK YOUR BUTT AND SHIT BLOOD IN YOUR MOUTH UNTIL YOUR EYES POP OUT
THEN LET C.J. GIVE YOUR EYEBALLS A BLOWJOB until you can see what Im saying
Been there done that, and I'm a Z person. I'm a major Z enthusiast,
especially the Z31. The Z31 is an amazing car, and as far as the squat, its
not bad with good springs. If you were a true Z enthusiast, you wouldn't
make lame jokes like that. Of course a 30+ year old car will have some
issues.
May favorite car when I was a kid! My first favorite car! I wished my
parents would buy one. It was in the movie "Blind Date" with John
Larroquette and Bruce Willis. It was also one of the fictional
"transforming" cars from the villainous organization Venom in the 80's
cartoon Mask.
hahahhahha lol... love this vid... I got a 85, love that car it's immortal
and never breaks down, It's the strongest car I've ever had and I've had
hondas,,, I love when some souped up honda civic wants to race, and I smoke
it...lol it's kind of pathetic,
Yeah.. Ive got a 50th '84 and and Shiro 88'..it was a joke that Z people
would laff at...you didnt..and as far as quality of build sure...its just
swell is'nt it? Now go replace your rear struts and springs and get rid of
that goofy squat problem
Actually, 1984 was the last year of "Datsun", my fathers '84 300zx was
labeled DATSUN and NISSAN, but '85s are not. And Our '79 280ZX says "Datsun
280ZX by Nissan" (by Nissan is in small letters under 280ZX)
He has a 300ZX 1996 na i have 1995 Maxima SE event he reviews out ontthe
cars at that time said the maxima took it in accelaration and quarter mile
times.. well the NA and the Turbo Automatic.. But yet again your right this
300ZX was the first from the late 80s im guessing, so yeah 200HP was alot,
Yet again only 200hp out of a Turbo V6? well anyways Tight Video i like the
end.. "SNAP YOU FROM 0 TO AWSOME" ha ha WHAT YEAR IS IT BY THE WAY??
So all future people don't get mixed up...its 200hp @ the flywheel @
6.7psi, capable of 240whp @ 10psi w/o an intercooler. And regarding
ltbarkleys comments on it being 200whp, thats totally wrong as i just said,
as well as his comment saying it has forged pistons...the rods are forged,
the pistons are cast aluminum. The car can take approx 400-500whp on the
stock bottum end.
only 200 hp because japan had/has strict regulation on the amount of HP the
engine can produce. This engine STOCK has FORGED rods, FORGED pistons, and
a bottom end STOCK can handle more than 500HP. With race mods you are
talking close to 900 HP - at the WHEELS. From "only a v6"
well my maxima is 95 and its 200HP and it whoops on my homies 300zx from
launch to about 120 then he starts pullin on me then i hit 133 and my
limiter [revents me from going more hes already by like 2 1/2 card aheead
and ten he pulls till he hits 152
the car was released in 1983 as a 1984 model turbo it was the most high
yealding horsepower car in japan at the time so the turbo motor over there
is the shit like the 350 chevy here loads of power compared to other motors
hahaha the gauges are insane. It seems like some kind of 80s wave of the
future.. glad that never took off and props for changing the technology for
the second generation 300ZX. I love Nissan.
i had a non turbo one still the best car i ever had and to the other
commenter tell your freind to bang on the right side of the dash to get
lights to work and man i loved that g-force gauge
-> Man, I wish ads today were like this. So much passion, so much info, &
so much exhuberance! Ads today seems like its its been dumbed down to
idiots...
I Love this commercial! I remember when it first aired, and it captures my
300Z thoughts and dreams! I get goose bumps whenever I watch this
commercial, cause I want to jump in a Z and start driving, touring, racing
and let it all hang-out on the road, the AutoBahn, with the sun shining and
wind in my hair, with my Babe next to Me. Ahhhh, Life is Good! Thanks,
Nissan!
Good call; they're a bit tough to work on but the swap is the way to go. A
lot of guys try to turbo the non-turbo motor and that's always trouble. And
if you move out here to New Mexico, you could have been legally driving
when you were 14.6; hell, it may be worth it for a Z.
I bought my first car my junior year of high school, a 1983 280ZX. I'm
about to graduate college, I still have it, and I guarantee that you'll
never regret your decision. They are...AWESOME!
I'm 15 and i just got a 1990 300zx na and it is awesome but in a year or
two when i can actually legally drive it i will swap out the non turbo
engine for a turboed one.
@siliconsurf yea when you buy as 20+ year old car it might have been a good
idea to check all those components. i have a 88 and just let one of my
local shops give it a full tune up and replace any that was once rubber
because after all those years they turning to hard plastic and my car runs
like a dream! except for my suspension haha feel like a track car which
isnt that good for the street XP
@siliconsurf the 300ZX Z32's really advanced for the era, that's what made
it great, the Z31 is great too, if it wasn't that much of a high
maintenance vehicle, being an SOHC turbo is a pain in the ass.
What I love about my 300zx is, they are extremely easy to power upgrade
without huge cost modifications to the original engine. Unlike skylines or
supras. I used to own a supra but the cost to power upgrade was well into
the $3000 or $4000 mark just for basic mods. The 300zx doesn't need all
this. $400 is the most expensive part on my car and I can still overtake a
porsche 911 on the straight. All a ZX needs is time and a little TLC.
