In the waning minutes of the 2013 legislative session, the legislature
passed a scaled-down bonding bill, which included $109 million dollars to
begin major renovation of the State Capitol. Soon, interior demolition will
begin and will continue through 2017, when work is scheduled for completion.
On this week's Capitol Report, Administration Commissioner Spencer Cronk
highlights the work to be done and the urgency for legislators to have
supported and pass the financing plan. Also, Senator Roger Chamberlain,
R-Lino Lakes, explains why the project won Republican votes, when several
other capital improvement projects failed to gain passage.
Also in the program, Julie explores with Sen. Chamberlain the influence of
Republicans in the 2013 session, not only in their decision to support a
limited number of bonding projects, but also their work in defeating other
high-profile issues.
Finally, Senator Bobby Joe Champion, DFL-Mpls., explains the new law,
called "Ban the Box," which prohibits employers in their application forms
to question job seekers about previous felony convictions.

Airstrikes in Syria have 'limited' effect on ISIS operations
Defcon 3 with KT McFarland: Stratfor military analyst Paul Floyd breaks down the possible long-term plan against the terror group.
Headline should read 'limited' airstrikes in Syria have 'limited' effect on
ISIS operations. Get serious and actually KILL our enemies; otherwise,
quit wasting our military's time and taxpayers' money. Terrorists should
not be "contained." They should be destroyed.
Isis is active both in Iraq and Syria in relation to Iraq where ever Isis takes control of a town or group of towns then are we not disconnecting that town from the power grid. Even Isis cannot operate without electricity, any power station they take must be destroyed via US air power where ever they go simply turn the juice off they will soon lose control of the situation with no power.
