The last of four trains burns through the diamond crossing at Opelika, AL between NS and CSX. Q614-20 has waited on two NS trains and its southbound ...

I wish I could man but all that we ever took is now uploaded. The only good
thing is that hopefully Santa will be good to me and bring me a VHS/ DVD
recorder that will make the sound sync and video quality much better. If I
do get it I'll likely reupload some of the older vids.
March 22, 2008 5:52 PM CST Here's a shot of eastbound NS 334 crossing the diamond at the depot in Opelika, Al. After coming off the train to punch the switch ...
As for stopping at the diamond; CSX "runs" the diamond so they have
somewhat of a upper hand with its workings. NS always has the diamond lit
and CSX keeps it dark until a train (from either line) is approaching. I
BELIEVE if a train is within 2 block signals of the diamond they enter into
its timing zone.Whatever train comes into this zone first has the right of
way to pass over the
interlock.......................................................................
Sorry to burst your bubble but there's no difference in adding this to a
URL for any of my videos. This would possably work if the videos I placed
on here were shot in HD but seeing that I havn't uploaded anything in HD,
adding this to the URL won't make ant difference to the quality of the
video.
Often what happens though is there's switching or a meet happening that
"times out" the diamond & causes the conductor to come out to the box &
push a button & call the DP for clearance.
Sorry it took so long but here we go. NS is as follows: Road (train)-
160.950 Dispatcher/ train- 160.245 Train/ dispatcher- 160.830 CSX is as
follows: Train- 161.370 Dispatcher- 160.990
what radio frequencies are used on the NS CofG and A&WP? and why do the
trains have to stop at the dimond to give themselves a green signal can't
they ring The CSXor NS Dispatchers?
It actually makes the noise at all speeds but can only be heard when the
train is moving slowly. The noise if from the air (break) line that it
monitors.
