For those of you who can't figure out how to get to the bottom rear bolt,
use a 15 mm deep well socket (Long socket) and a 3 inch extension to get
the bolt loose. While on back looking up at an angle between frame at
radiator looking up to your right at bottom right of alternator you can see
the bolt head. Just slide the deep well and extension up over the O2
sensor and leave it hanging there. Then slide back to look through the
open area just behind the radiator you can then see to get the socket on
the bolt. A little tricky but better than removing sensors or A/C pump...
Then it is a matter of loosening center pulley that has the bolt
adjustment, unbolt alternator from top and then unbolting that arm from
engine. Rotate alternator unbolt first line then slide out alt and
disconnect the second electrical connector.
this is my moms youtube account off her computer. ok. 1) for all of yall
wondering how much a shop would charge with alternator. its about 600-850$
(I work for pepboys) 2) it doesnt seem like this guy knows half the stuff
that he took apart cuz this video on "how to take out the alternator"
sucks. he needs to show everyone how to do it step by step instead of "we
had to do this and this" after its taken apart. 3) yes go to pepboys and
buy the book to take it apart properly instead of this half ass wanna be
mechanic. the book is also useful if you want to do anything else to your
vehical. its about 20$ for the book so its a good thing to have on you.
P.S. im bout to start making my own videos that show you step by step on
how to work on vehicals if i keep seeing more dumb asses like this that
post these useless videos...
Would you be able to teach me on how will i change the alternator coz' i
have no idea. Step by step if possible.. It will be my first time, if i
will do it myself ;).. And one more thing if you could tell me what is the
problem because my radio is stops working. Just changed my battey a month
ago but last week it was drained. I don't know. Please help me! Thanks so
much!
ever get it back in though? I'm gonna go ahead and assume it's less time
than getting it out if you know exactly where you got everything from &
know how to reattach, & don't forget everything. 2 1/2 out you said so I'm
going to say 1 1/2 in if that. so about 4 hours total. I'm not sure where
people are getting over $150 of service for this ontop of taxes.
this process of changing the alternator differs from year to year and model
to model, aswell as what engine your car has. If you are not very
experenced with mechanics i would not highly recomend you doing a job like
this, unless the alternator is real close to the top of the engine without
alot blocking it in.

step by step on how to do this ....it's a pain in the ass...but with a
little reading and the right tools it can be done!!!!
