I bought this car from the owner thinking it may need an engine because the oil light was on as soon as the engine warmed up. I found that the engine was ...
Dodge Neon Idling issue; Stalling, Oil light on. (OH NO.)
Issue was because of the idle control valve, ICV. The PCM got damaged, by
being in a heat room after being painted for a few days to help the paint
dry. Pin 47, 48 shorted to each other (showed contunitiy) which triggered a
check engine light and ultimatley confused me to the very end until I said
"eff this" and replaced the PCM and to my amazement the code went away. Did
tons of diagnosing though, new ICV's and even made an overlay harness.
Oil pressure switch, hard starts that get harder the warmer the car is.
Another symptom would be oil leaking from the switch itself. Probably cold
starts fine but then as oil gets warm the oil pressure decreases and thus
the lack of oil pressure from the switch in turn cuts the connection to the
fuel pump.
