You just saved me from losing my mind. Rebuilt my MinnKota and it was running backwards afterwards.... I was completely baffled. I have taken it apart and reassembled 3 times now trying to figure this out. Thanks for helping me keep my sanity.

Thee is no such thing as a good landlord. I would make the letting out of properties illegal. All properties should be sold to the council and they can rent them out after modernizing them to a livable standard. Landlords are the scum of the earth.

The wear ring diverts the water to the center of the impeller while it is running. By leaving off the screen there is improved water flow through the pump and nothing there to get plugged up. The chopper blade is still there to help cut up any large food items that go through the pump.

question Why did the new replacement leave off the screen by the impeller? What is the purpose of the wear ring?
