The story: An American in rancher, investigating the disappearance of his cattle, discovers a prehistoric tyrannosaurus — the Beast of Hollow Mountain.
I have a love hate feeling with the ending of this film, I like how he
sinks down but I think it was done kinda strangely, the way he swung and
seemed a little rushed, I always like the creative ways in stop-motion
creature features that they kill the monster usually by using it's pea
sized brain at an advantage to trick it into falling off a cliff or
something. I think the stop-motion isn't exactly Harryhausen or O'Brian but
has nice charm to it, it has a very unique movement unlike other stop
motion films, especially when it isn't zoomed in and you see the creature
running. I absolutely refuse to see the new Clash of the Titans even
because of the overused CGI really, I was born in 1992 but I prefer
creative stuff like this to computer generated. Nobody else my age agrees
they just say "it looks like crap".. ugh..
+Metaluna Zombie I agree. In 1956 I was 8 years old and the beastie in this film seemed horrific to me. It inspired me to try out stop motion animation and I've been doing it since then. So, when I look at something that's shot one frame at a time I feel the pain. Animation is very time consuming, tedious, and requires tremendous patience. For that reason, I love the old Harryhausen/Delgado/Danforth/O'Brian works. Only one person did those effects! CGI has teams of around 50 or more people. Looks great, but I need to feel the pain to really appreciate it.

tikit On Trial Part 6b: Price Waterhouse Bldg - REVISED
I appended a surprise encounter with Shelly, a recumbent guy I met on the Hudson bike path, who had something to say about society's attitude to cyclists .
You're right, that's not bad at all; I haven't yet tried taking my bike
into any office buildings here in DC (my workplace has no problem, though).
I'll keep an eye out for ya next time I'm in NYC. ;)
