you can ride a bike without gears its called free wheel, and fixed gear.

It's a q-ring so it feels more like 56 on the downstroke. +Flash Masterson If you want some pills come inside my house and I'll show you some cool stuff.
BikeBlogger,
Fantastic bike! Just was looking at Wabi Lightening SE myself in orange.
Really enjoyed your video. I ride a Gunnar Crosshairs for my commute but
have been wanting a fixed gear to do exactly what you are doing. It rides
so quiet too. Are those bars the ones that came with the bike setup as an
option? Would you change anything about the bars? There are so many
varieties out there. What kind of cyclometer are you using? Anyways,
nice ride.
Thanks stephchad100. I actually got the road bars from Wabicycles but decided to switch them to the Origin8 bullhorn bars in this video. I think I prefer bullhorn/pursuit handlebars, but to mix things up I have bikes also with road bars and flat bars. I like the bullhorns with bar end brake levers but you can also go with cross/top mount levers. My bike computer is a simple Sigma BC 509, which I use on all my bikes. Gunnar sounds awesome. I know there is a store across from Tower Grove Park around where I live that sells Gunnar frames.
Thanks, BARNTRIKEMAN. To be fair, I forgot to put the chain on the 17t cog so the placebo effect made me think it was harder to climb the hills in this video, but I was actually running my normal 19t cog. I changed it over to the 17 now so I should go a little faster on the flats and torture myself a little more on the hills. :p
Nice bike BikeBlogger! Is the 52/17 gearing good on hills? Or is it pretty
much geared for level road riding? Also, what light are you using and how
many lumens does it put out? Be careful out there, take care
Hello SolarReturn. 52/17 is a 3:1 ratio. It is not great for hills, much better for going fast on the flats. My light is a 400 lumen Fenix UC 40 UE. I share it between all my bikes. :)
EBR 1190SX review - the world's most powerful naked bike
A 185-horsepower, 188-kilogram race bike with no fairings and a flat handlebar. Loz Blain takes the world's most powerful production streetfighter out for a ride.
This doesn't look like a real naked to me. And the fact is: KTM 1290
Superduke R is the strongest naked bike in the world. And probably the best
at the time. 192HP (stock with Akra Evo exhaust). My KTM SDR got 194,6HP.
R&N air filter, rotweiler ads, no dB killer, etc.
+Martin Sage I don't care how fast these electric bikes are no way would I swap the sound of my V4R Tuono for a bike that sounds like it's making a milk shake. how far do ya get on it before you have to sit around recharging it. how many years do the batteries last. I could ride my Tuono for the rest my life and cause less environmental damage than what is caused making them batteries. wonder if a electric bike would wipe a petrol bike's arse in endurance racing haha!!!
Hey Loz; another great review, thanks man.
Is lane splitting (or filtering as we call it in GB) legal in Queensland?
Regards, Buzz
PS: Have you lost weight?
All these new street fighter bikes coming out with huge horsepower and
techy gizmos, is the Triumph Speed Triple still a relevant motorcycle? Big
horsepower and racetrack prowess doesnt always equal a great road bike
which is where these bikes spend the majority of their lives?
+Buzz Shiteyear I have not ridden any naked superbikes, I would definitely like to, just to see if it would change my mind on them as I rode a Harley once and at speed I noticed that I was using a fair bit of energy just hanging on due to all the wind buffeting.
Hey Splinter. Talking to the Triumph guys at the bike show, they say that all their test riders prefer the STREET triple. Apparently it's quicker around the twisties because it's lighter and more flickable. Me; I don't see the point of naked superbikes... Anything over 100BHP just isn't usable without a fairing and clip-ons.
Yes. The Speed Triple is the best bike in the whole world ever.

There must be dozens of how-to vids on bar wrapping, and most of them fail
from just really poor camera work (why do an instructional when you can't
see?). This one is not bad, but since it is your bike/bars probably, watch
a few -you'll want to take pride on how yours looks, and some subtle tips
from here and there will, overall, provide you w enough info to do a grand
job worthy of any artisan. In comparison you'll find these mechanics
actually contradict one another in what is best often.
@MutR This is not necessarily true. I have new Ultegra levers on my bars.
The hoods each have molded nubs that, when the hood is in place, fit inside
shaped slots in the ABS bodies of the levers. If I followed your method,
the tape would cover these holes, and the hoods would not sit right. If
your way were the "right" way, would Shimano really design one of their
top-end components this way? Doubt it.
once he his the brake lever, he did it wrong from there. you want to go
around the brake lever and start wrapping in the opposite direction on the
top of the bars. Reason for this is because the way he demonstrates here,
if you were to use the top bars you would be loosening the tape.
Holy shit...an Expert village video that is actually made by an
EXPERT!!!!!!! Dude that was excellent and if I were you I'd re-brand away
from expert village as I almost didn't watch this video because they are
usually utter dog shit!!!!!!!!! Thanks
Thanks a million!! I am a total newbie at bikes (didn't properly learn to
ride till I was 22), and I just taped my handlebars myself using this
video. Great job, and nice work making the video under 5 minutes. :)
Not bad, but I like starting at the top of the handlebars, by wrapping the
bar tape over itself once, and then finishing at the plug end so you don't
have to use finicky electrical tape to hold it in place.
Very cool, thank you!! quick question. I'm going to change my tape, but my
handle bar hurts my hands inside. may I tape new one over existing one ?
This way I think holding the bar may be a bit smoother )
a tip is always wrap the tape in the direction you will be twisting it when
holding the bars tight as in a sprint or on a climb, start insed the bars
and wrap outwards and on the top wrap downwards ....
He does it right up until he hits the shifter. You should come up from
inside the shiter, not the outside, so you wrap the other way along the
top. This stops it from unravelling over time.
@arbanaskocudo lmao what do you want to use? duct tape? lol. the bar tape
did work on the bar, electrical tape is like the cherry on top (not really)
but still, its worked for 50+ years
Hei ! veeery thanks ! i change two, three tape per year, i have not a lot
of experience... sometime i have cramp into my hand... now i try to follow
your video ! Andrea
Start form the top! Over-lap once eliminate electrical tape! Use bar end to
hold the end of wrap. Simple... Electrical tape wont last, or keep the end
from unwrapping!!
Nice, thanks ...other videos on Youtube don't show you how to cut the 45
deg taper to finish the job.
Tektro Dorado HD-E710 Performance eBrake for Bafang BBSHD, BBS02, MaxDrive any other electric bike
Tektro Dorado HD-E710 offers the ultimate in stopping power for electric bikes. The HD-E710 is specially designed for the higher speeds and increased weight ...
+ElectricBike (Bruno) ok, thanks for the advice, I think the problems come when you brake with the rear brake, if you brake with the front after stoping pedaling it would be better?
+EFA22000 - Yeeeahhh... many people ride without ebrakes just relying on the motor to stop in time. It is totally possible to ride like that but we noticed that it forces the motor putting a lot of stress on internal gears cause premature problems. Gear sensor is also a really handy device =]
FINALLY I RECEIVED THE BBS-HD, IT'S THE MORE SILENT ELECTRIC MOTOR ON THE
MARKET, ALL THE HUB MOTORS ARE NOISIER THAN THIS BBS-HD, THE ADVANTAGE OF
THE NYLON GEAR WITH THE RIGHT LITHIUM GREASE, ARE = FREE OF NOISE, NO
OVERHEATING, LAST MORE TIME THAN A METAL GEAR, DUE TO THE ELIMINATION
OF THE OVERHEATING USURY (THE METAL MICROPARTICLES WEAR OUT AS THE
SANDPAPER), MORE EFFICIENT..........AN EXAMPLE ? TODAY I RODE THE BIKE
GOING ACROSS THE SAME PATH OF THE TOWN THAT I HAVE CROSSED WITH THE SAME
BIKE, THE SAME WEIGHT BUT WITH THE CYCLONE, A DIFFERENT ELECTRIC MOTOR,
WITH SAME POWER, BUT MUCH MORE NOISIER WITH MUCH MORE HEAT, WITH METAL GEAR
(HALF OF THE POWER BECOMES HEAT) AND THE RANGE OF THE BBS HD WITH A 10AH
BATTERY PACK WITH PAS AT MAX LEVEL (NO THROTTLE) WAS TWICE (30 KM) COMPARED
TO THE RANGE OF THE CYCLONE (15 KM)
AT THE MOMENT WITH PAS 0, THE THROTTLE DOESN'T WORK, SO I THINK I HAVE TO
PROGRAM IT WITH THE SOFTWARE. DO YOU CONFIRM IT ?
THE DREAM IS TO USE THIS BBS HD MOTOR WITH A REAR ROHLOFF 500/14 SPEED
HUB........................ AND A BELT TRASMISSION IT WOULD NOT BE A BAD
IDEA
+ROBY ROS - Yeeeahhhh... I will test this monster very well... hopefully it is an improved "2016 version" or something like that hahahhaa... its hard to compare with the nice and well engineered BBSHD. Yeah, we received 47x BBSHDs last week and they all are stamped 750w so it "looks legal" in some countries like the USA. The throttle at PAS-0 needs to be programmed using the USB programming cable, you will find all instructions here on Karl's website (the best website for Bafang riders) //electric-fatbike.com/2015/06/26/a-hackers-guide-to-programming-the-bbs02/The display won't show more than 999w... the speed is limited to 50kmh on the C961 and 60kmh on the C965 3 buttons. There is a trick when you're programming your controller, the "throttle tab" you set the mode to "speed", designated assist to "9" and the speed limit to "40kmh" for some reason this combination will give you an unlimited speed limit, its a bug I found on the programming software hahaha...The additional cables are good connecting an additional gear sensor but you can also connect the sensor to one of the eBrake connectors... the front and rear lights are 6v... not very easy to find 6v lights... so all that extra is good but not you can survive without. So much POWEEEEEEEEEEEEEER =]
+ElectricBike (Bruno) I' M SURE THAT THE NEW CYCLONE 3000W IS BETTER THAN THE OLD CYCLONE MOTORS AND IT' LL NOT HAVE OVERHEATING PROBLEMS, IT' LL BE LESS NOISY THAN THE OLDMODELS BUT STILL MUCH MORE NOISIER THAN THE COMPLETELY SILENT BBSHD , I' M SURE IT IS A LITTLE BEAST REGARDING THE PERFORMANCES, BUT I' M NOT AT ALL CONFIDENT ABOUT THE RELIABILITY OF THIS CYCLONE MOTOR (MY EXPERIENCE ARE THREE CYCLONE MOTORS BROKEN FOR OVERHEATING PROBLEMS AND THE FOURTH STOLEN). ONE OF THE FIRST PERSON THAT HAS PURCHASEDIT, AFTER A RIDE OF FEW KM THE 3000W MOTOR DIDN' T WORK MORE.SO, I HOPE IT' S A SINGLE AND ISLOLATED EVENT. YOU' LL TELL US IF IT IS RELIABLE TESTING THIS LITTLE BEAST (BUT YOU NEED A LOT OF RIDES TO BE SURE IT' S RELIABLE).REGARDING THE BBSHD 1000, THE MINE HAS THE WRITE " 48V 750W "(BUT IT' S THE 1000W VERSION, RIGHT ?) I THINK FOR THE EXPORT TO U.S.A. (750W LIMIT).THEN MY C965 UNIT SHOWS MAX LIMIT OF 999W, A MAX SPEED OF 60KM/H (SETTABLE) AND AT PAS " 0 " THE THROTTLE DOESN' T WORK I THINK THESE THINGS CAN BE CHANGED WITH THE SOFTWARE AND THE PROGRAMMING CABLE. CAN YOU CONFIRM IT ? THEN I KNOW THERE IS AN OTHER BBSHD VERSION WITH MORE CABLES FROM THE MOTOR = THE CHAIN SENSOR AND FRONT AND REAR LIGHT OUTPUTS.LET ME KNOW AND UPLOAD NEW VIDEOS.............WITH POWERRRRRRRRRR................
+ROBY ROS - Ahhhhh.. just replied your previous message hahahaa... BBSHD is the eBike commuter's dream coming to live... silent and powerful, long range... fun... and more fun... huhuuuuuuull... Yeah.. so many people complaining about the "plastic" nylon gear... they don't understand all the benefits, specially noise and wear... you said everything =]Yeahh.. Rohloff belt driven would be the sexiest bike ever!! The only way you can get belt in your bike is if you cut your frame to fit the belt and make a joint screwing back together but able to open to replace the belt next time. Very hard almost impossible to find frames for belt driven bikes....I am impressed with your range, double than the Cyclone motor... I am building a bike with the Cyclone kit from Luna Cycles (Eric wants me to test this 3000w monster) very interesting you telling me all that info... I will pay attention on noise and range in my comparison... anything else you have noticed? Weight difference? Harness is waaaay better on BBSHD... so much POWEEEEEER =]
+Kory Garretson - Yeeeeeahhhhh.. the Tektro Dorado pads are designed to handle all that power and lasting longer... another thing many people may not know is that hydraulic brakes "self adjust" so you don't have to worry about tighten the cables all the time... so much POWEEEEEEEEEER.. durable and convenient too hahaha =]
i had a clarks 200mm hydrolic disk kit on my mountain bike and it had
incredible stopping pwer. it was a bit overkill actually but would have
been perfect for your fast e bike. but i did not maintain it properly and
it broke. and i never liked the look as it was too big and silly. i have
since fitted normal, small sized mechanical disk brake, which is ok, but
only about half as good as the clarks.
+andy765gtr - Yeeeeeahhhh... Clarks with 200mm rotors is good for fast and heavy electric bikes but totally overkill for a normal bike... even for electric bikes in most cases is overkill. This Tektro can take 180 or 203mm rotors but 2.3mm thick instead of 1.8mm... imagine the ridiculous motorcycle stopping POWEEEEEEEEEEER haahaha =]
"Brakes."
-"YEEEEAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHWWWWWWWOOOOOOOHHHHHHOOOOOOOO!!!!!"
-"POWWWWAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHRRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!"
I love your enthusiasm, man! What are your plans for these brakes then?
Emergency stops from 80km/h? :-)
+IamIronManUK - Yeeeeeahhhh... ops... brakes at 80kmh???? Hummmm... the best scenario I would be riding this Tektro Dorado with hoping this is not too POWERFUL and lock the wheels and the tires are too good sticking like glue to the road and I fly like superman landing on soft grass... nice and safe...hahahaa.. (what did I just say??)Ewan (eMax eBike's owner) has a Canondale MTB with the BBSHD and Tektro Dorado 180mm brakes... the stopping power is so ridiculous but makes a huge difference at higher speeds.... sooo much braking POWEEEEEEERRR =]

I bicycle every where and I wish more people. Good video . I do see more
people bicycling places now but when I started 5 years ago no one did in my
city that I saw except homeless. Some people think I am homeless had one
women stop and ask if I needed gloves or anything she wanted to help I said
no thanks
+jesse clayton That's a funny story, jesse clayton. I wonder sometimes if some people think the same when they see me. I generally do not ride a flashy bike, nor wear very sporty clothes, and I even ride around with clipless sandals sometimes so I'm sure to some I look like a bum. But that's OK, I don't care what other people think. LOL Just keep being yourself.
Have you ever looked at those Velo ergonomic grips with bar ends? I have
them on two of my bikes and I absolutely love them. And on top of that, the
quality is good too.

+Pedal Powered They look good, Pedal Powered. Longer than the Origin8 Pro Lite bar ends in this video, but the ones in this video are really short. Honestly, it seems like it would be hard to mess up bar ends. I mean, they are supposed to be a simple thing, right? Haha.
