Avon RoadRider Motorcycle Tire Review - Royal Enfield Bullet
I put an Avon RoadRider motorcycle tire on the back wheel of my Royal Enfield Bullet 500, and it transformed the way the motorcycle handles. The stock Avon ...
What is the overall height of this tire? That is to say from the pavement
to the top of the rubber? Im trying to figure out what I can get away with
and yours tuck nicely
I ride a zzr250 and decided to change the tires at 20k km's(5k over
normal).Factory tires were Dunlops and were very square and squirrly in the
corners. These tires change the handling completely and very happy with the
performance.
+wade parsons I agree. They corner great on my Bullet. Much better than the stock tires.

+Floyd Burdett sorry not so much asking a question but rather just making a point or something to think about. Just so you know I also chose the Pirelli Diablo.
+Michael Warren ...He SAID up front what the test conditions "allowed" them to do... Can't test rain grip on a 'watered down' track and still have time to test over a dozen tires! Nor Longevity in one day! Nor can you test for varying surfaces and street conditions on a Track. He said he was going to ride his top choice for a while to see how well it lasted in street riding. And the COST [MSRP] IS THERE in the blue info charts! This comparison, by the limits of "reality", can only give us SOME of the overall information about each tire. Of course, we ALL would like to know how different they are in rain and wet conditions...and even in different temperatures of weather. And, of course, we want to know basically how long we can ride them for the dollars spent...No one knows what exact type and style and skill level, etc. that YOU ride. Nor weather, nor weight of you and bike together, nor how well you have the suspension set...or dozens of other "variables"...But this information is NOT "JUNK"!! YOU have to take this -- especially his spoken comments -- and factor that in a decision for YOUR riding. And that does NOT mean only "Racing"! The 6 hours or so I spend on a Track (actual approximate riding time of 3 Track Days, in 3 or 4 20 minute sessions per Day) transfers DIRECTLY to my riding skills and 'performance' on the streets! Particularly the mountain roads I ride...including several trips per season to the Dragon's Tail and many similar roads in the area...If all you are interested in various weather and life-span, perhaps you should consider a Touring Tire. MANY of them still offer VERY GOOD cornering ability while still giving wider weather conditions and mileage numbers.... which also translates to a better "dollars per mile" Cost factor.
+Adam Waheed I've watched this review many many times. I would love to see you run this test again in 2015/16 with the latest offerings. Love the scientific procedure.
+Rob Evans Here is a link to a race tire shootout from six years ago. Much of the ideas are still valid to a certain extent... Adam //www.motorcycle-usa.com/2009/11/article/2009-dot-race-motorcycle-tire-shootout/
+Adam Waheed .. ADAM...you cut your hair!! (-;Or was the profile picture taken before it grew out..? THANKS for the GREAT Information! I know that tire comparisons are like lap-top computer comparisons...by the time you get them edited and posted, NEW products are already hitting the Market! I LOVE my Q3's!! For my first Track Day on my then new Fz1, I still had the Factory OEM Bridgestones on the bike...but I picked up a nail in the rr on my way there...Dunlop was 'sponsoring' part of the cost of the Track Day -- and had Scott Russell there giving RIDES on his Q3 equipped Fz1! So, of course, a Q3 went on the back of my bike! I was (and still am) "new" to Sport riding after 30+ years of riding dirt bikes to "classic Standards" like KZ900's and Kaw 2-stroke triples, to cruisers. But I could tell a CLEAR difference in the very first session with the Q3 vs the 2,000+ miles I had already put on the Bridgestone... and I am now on the 3rd set of Q3's -- front and rr of course.BUT, the Q3's DO make me feel uncomfortable in the rain...
+TheSydguy30 It was not yet available in the U.S. during last September's test... Adam

I run the Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SC2's on mine, I obviously purely use
the bike for track. I personally LOVE them, what are your opinions on the
SC2's?
+Justin Evans SC2s are a different league. I recently bolted on a set, coming from SP v2. Day and night. Although, don't expect more than 4-6 hours of track time with them. They disintegrate like mad.
First, I wish you could have tested the Pilot Road 4 instead of the PP3...
But one thing that is STILL very important for a STREET tire is how it does
in the RAIN!
Unless we are pure Track Day Dogs -- which would mean just run Racing
tires(!) -- then we are going to get caught in the rain sometimes! If we
are on Q3's [which I am currently on, and LOVE them] or the Supercorsa and
get caught in the rain...do we just need to find a Gas Station cover or
bridge and hang out for an indefinite period of time?
As I said, I DO LOVE my Q3's as a very sticky tire at a good price! I am
thinking about the 'value' of spending about $130 per set more in real
market price difference for the Supercorsa...? Maybe I will try them one
time and see if I can tell the difference at my skill level. But I really
would like to see how the PR4 -- with its Great Rain capacities -- would do
compared to the SC and Q3 for dry conditions.
+Floyd Burdett Don't get me wrong you have a cool bike but it's not a gsxr so imho the Q3's are already better handlers than your bike so I think you would not gain anything usable and actually end up losing points with the SC's (way higher price. Q3's run circles around them in the rain, longer mileage)' And I don't think any of them give you better feedback (feel) of the contact with the pavement.
"the track tire sure was sticky; the road tire sure was hard".
im not sure how this smackdown went down (pirelli was the only one that
asked whether the track was the arena, or motousa set them up for success)
but it sure smacks of ghost hunters. the methodology is sound; its just the
area makes no sense. in this case its scientifically measuring tire temp
with an onboard sensor. frigging awesome!!!! but the comparison is a 90/10
track tire to a 5/95 everyday built-for-longevity tire. "the plumb chick
well she sure had a lot to hang onto".
i would really like to see mr waheed's astute assessment and this awesome
temperature sensor method applied to a proper group of 90/10 near track
group, 50/50 rosso corsa group, or 10/90 rossa corsa II group.
whether it was a setup or failed communication i doubt bridgestone and
michelin will be giving free (tires) lambs for the slaughter (guaranteed
failure).
+A Boston The Supercorsa SP V2 is OE fitment on it seems like everything coming out of Europe. The BMW, the Ducati, the Aprilia, the MV, and the Triumph. Nothing OE is 90/10 track biased. 90/10 is the point where you're running DoT race rubber and the SPv2 isn't that tire.
I have more desire for the Continental tyres, Best structure and roll
character, In the lean and coming off corners are just superb, Im mainly on
the road so I stick to the continental road attack 2 EVO these tyres is
like something else, nothing handles like them.
+shane devlin I have tried 7 front tires with a Conti Road Attack 2 (not EVO) being the 7th and the Conti was the best feeling & steering tire i have used. Sold the bike before the tire was all used but it seemed to wear a bit more than previous tires.
could i squeeze fit this tire on a vt 600 pc21 89''. Have a 180/80/15 on at
the moment.. or do i have to change the rim as well.

That bike is so clean. The rear fender and 250 tire configuration look
awesome. It makes me want to sell my 2004 Fatboy and by a new "Lo." The
modifications you have made are perfect for that bike. Two thumbs up... no
question about it.
Very very nice - just ordered my stock 2012 HDFB Lo today - and that rear
conversion looks very very nice indeed - pity here in the UK one has to put
a massive billboard of a licence plate on the back - that sucks!!
It's a custom HD Fatboy. Why would you think it would be that cheap? Even a
bone stock FB is 17k starting. The only bike you'll find for 3k is a beat
up 600cc sportbike or a brand new 250cc sport bike.
@artsbest1 Hi! If you give us a call on (07) 3262 7776 one of our friendly

information for this build. Thanks!
Oh hello! Have you tried - fast abs magic (just google it)? Ive heard some
awesome things about it and my buddy got amazing Six pack abs and lost
crazy amounts of weight with it.
Getting mine on the road 7 days. Keep it standard for a few months, but
have to say that is the cleanest custom I have seen on the Net, may do that
to mine one day.
even if any of that diarrhea you said was true, theyre still the most
recognized and sought after motorcycle in the world. and you wanted to buy
it! hahaha
Has this bike been "lowered" or "slammed" as they call it or is this the
normal seat configuration? The seat looks much lower than on a normal Fat
Boy?
Hi. Fantastic Bike! Where did you get the rear end conversion? The rear
fender especially? Thanks.
