Free to play mechanics? Instant total shit of a game for me then.
The free to play game style is just so awful. It leads to a fucked up
progression system where I break my balls beyond belief to get a single
thing, or spend real money and lose any and all sense of accomplishment,
and thus, incentive to play.
But do you ONLY play in order to get new weapons? Even if it takes a long time to get some of the gear, the entire rest of the game is always available for free, and that's where the fun is.I personally think it's a good system, because online games need as big a player base as they can get to make the game enjoyable. I play TF2, League and Planetside and enjoy all of them even though I've only spent money in cosmetics so far.
I adored Planetside 2, and put well over 100h into it. And after weeks of playing I finally accrued enough credits to get the gun I had been eying, and I loved it.I then started working on what I wanted next, and the realization of how obscenely long everything was taking set in. And as I said, buying the weapons is unacceptable for me personally. Not because I can't afford it, but because it gives me zero satisfaction.I've yet to find a free to play game that strikes a balance I find enjoyable. And I am seriously starting to doubt that I ever will. TB's video on Dirty Bomb made me think that I would love the game, then he explained the business model, and all my interest evaporated into everlasting sorrow....or something.
I really think F2P is perfectly capable of being enjoyable. DotA 2, TF2, Hearthstone (potentially debatable) and Path of Exile are all free games which, rather than forcing you to spend money, end up profiting off of the good will of their players. Premium currency is where a game loses me. Fuck Clash of Clans. Fuck Candy Crush. And fuck micro transactions in $60 titles, because we already gave you our goddamn money.
Agree, I dont trust some unknown developers to produce a good product where I get the value for my investment (F2P mech) and balanced gameplay experience at the same time. Show us the game, make us like it, Then introduce "buy more gold" garbage.
The music while Jim was in the queue sounds like the theme song to a shitty
television show that has an introduction which goes on for way too long
(and the producers know it) on Lifetime about the zany happenings on a
cattle ranch.

I love the concept of this game. But it's very very buggy. I lost a lot of
tasks because I would leave the person I had to transport somewhere so I
can take remove the passenger wagon so I can take the longer but safer
route to the next city to finish a material transporting quest and then
when I come back to find it gone. Or one of the family members, Robert,
died while transporting him and I hadn't realised that until I got to the
destination, welp. That's a few hours gone as I have to restart now if I
want to play this game.
+Handsome Kiddo Oh or I had bought the most expensive boots before I got the quest I needed it for (I thought it was an item that would give my character bonus stats or something) then when I got the quest I couldn't use the 500$ boots, I had to go and buy another pair again, and it took both of them.
27:06 So in west Philadelphia, he was born and raised? Would you also say
on the playground is where he spent most of his days? Those bandits, who
are up to no good, probably started making trouble in his neighborhood. He
should move in with his auntie and uncle in Bel Air.
+Many A True Nerd Perhaps you're just too clever for us, Jon. It's that British subtlety - it's lost on us red-blooded 'Muricans.Oh well. Yo homes, smell ya later!
The 'cockpit' of a train is known as a footplate. The firebox is the thing
you put coal in to heat the boiler. The whistle lowers steam pressure as
well as sounding cool. It does sound cool though.
+Many A True Nerd You talked about his backstory involving "local troubles" or how you "liked leaving Philadelphia without being forced to by [your] grandmother" and I wondered if you were making Bel-Air references or just going mad.
