I've seen that too! And at a busy intersection with two major streets. Though the worst I've seen was a guy driving on the interstate while typing on his laptop. But then, I've watched my own mom use a stick shift while holding an ice cream cone multiple times, so....

In a situation like that, you need to leave it there until you take pictures of the scene...for purposes of determining where exactly the vehicles ended up so that the at fault party doesn't try to say that the other driver way in the wrong spot or something like that.

You cant expect to take your $50,000 truck with an aluminum running
gear,plastic bumpers,plastic grill, and most everything under the hood is
plastic, and try anything that works that vehicle hard. You are going home
on foot. Its sad to say you spent a shit load of money on a vehicle that is
based on comfort not function. The only thing I do to my 81k3500 is put gas
in it on a regular basis. But the 2007 silverado with all that fancy
bullshit is constantly broke down , and when it does it is big bucks.
70,000 miles on it, always maintained,never abused, and it lives at the
dealership!

Never seen a class III receiver get pulled apart by pure torque before. To
break a receiver while yanking a chain is not unheard of but for it to
happen while smooth pulling is impressive.
