More or less what garth said... Leaf springs in general allow for a good
bit of torsional movement (axle wrap) and with lift blocks, particularly
some as tall as the ones on his truck, create a lot of axle wrap due to the
increased distance between the axle and the spring, creating more leverage.
Those traction bars prevent that and the things caused by axle wrap (wheel
hop, etc).
its not about clearance though man. You have to be able to turn the tires
while ur pullin that heavy som bitch behind you. Ive been truck pulling for
a few years and ive noticed that every inch of tire you go up, you lose
about 1000 rps (without changing the gear ratio).. plus he has a relative
small engine, so that size tire is prolly what works best for his truck.
indeed. I'm not a big fan of diesels but i'm intelligent enough to realize
that diesels usually make much more power. Some of those large crate motors
make similar power though, but fuck it, the diesels still do better on fuel
then those big crate motors.
@fadedfutures Diesels can make a lot more torque than a gas motor a lot
easier. And You can have a diesel with 1000 ft/lbs of torque last 300k
miles where you'd be lucky to get 3 years out of a 1000 ft/lbs of torque
gas motor.
It looks like that orange chevy at 1:14 could use some bigger tires. Those
tires look to small for the amount of clearence he has in the wheel wells
around those tires. Same thing with the Ford at 5:51.
u gotta love those cummins those gassers r a joke lol plus i own a dodge
with a cummins lots of torque with 500hp with a chip and 20 mph when i baby
it so fuck your gas guzzlers!!!
Of course the diesels are going to whip the gassers at pulling. Im
surprised the guys with the gassers even bothered trying to beat a diesel
at a truck pull. Think.
I love to see small towns (Winchester pop. 26,000) showing lots to offer.
It looks so nice, charming, clean and civilized. And the history --- I had
no idea! All I knew of Winchester was apples and Patsy Cline (kind of
peeved she wasn't mentioned). And to bobtubeish who wrote: "Where is the
diversity? Does this town confine the people of color to a single area of
town?" Winchester is 82% white, the rest is comprised of other racial
groups. So there is some "diversity" there. Why does this even matter in
the first place? Diversity only implies "differences". What do you expect
from a town this size? I'm sure the "people of color" (such a divisive,
p.c. label, btw) are quite happy living all over town, not in a single
area. Good god.
Winchester still does not care about Patsy Cline or its Country music
history, period. . It took years for them to get her house opened as a
museum and folks still resisted it. They just play up being close to DC (as
if 70+ miles is "close"). And they have one of the biggest names in music
history (the female Elvis) and no mention of Patsy Cline. Because they are
now a bedroom community for people who commute to DC.
This video is amazing! Winchester has really blossomed into a great place
to hang out, it is really fabulous! The activities are soo amazing as well,
Lots of friendly and diversified things all up and down the mall. Went to
the Village restaurant and V2, and had the best food and drinks! Then went
to the end of the mall to a really progressive and hip store, Luciole. Yes,
Winchester is all that!
So, I watched this whole video. Its awfully nice. But not one mention of
Patsy CLINE? She's the real reason folks come to Winchester from around the
world. Snubbed again, I see by the folks in WINC.
I did a medical rotation at Winchester Medical Center in 1996 and just
loved the town. I'm sure its changed a lot since then. I fear it's become a
very expensive place to live.
And the old town mall activity a few weeks ago was Celebración, a "one-day,
family-oriented free festival to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month in our
region".
Winchester area is beautiful- but it has become a bedroom community for DC
commuters. It was more like real Virginia years ago, now its a lot like
"NOVA".
