It's a rather bland and generic looking car. It's really annoying how many times he says 'supercar' in this video. This is nothing of the sort.

I can't believe that hideous thing was once considered a supercar. To me, if a supercar is no longer called so 20 years later, it was never a supercar. I also can't believe he prefers the looks of this to a gen 1 NSX, which I absolutely love the look of. Which of the two cars ended in the pools of obscurity? That's right, you'd be hard pressed to find anyone today who's even heard of this, it looks like a Nissan.

cette venturi est laide ? NON NON ET NON . je la trouve encore superbe 25 ans après . Quel dommage que les français achetent leurs voitures de luxe à l'étranger . Quel gachis . Venturi continue à monaco avec des voitures electriques mais c est plus pareil .

+Macfly MartyEvidemment, que beaucoup de Français sont passionnés par les belles voitures, mais ils ne sont qu'une minorité par rapport à la grande masse des millions de citoyens lambdas, pour qui les voitures ne sont qu'un instrument servant à se déplacer d'un point A à un point B. Et quant au V6 PRV, il a commencé avec la R30 et la 604. Le V6 des Venturi a pour base le PRV, mais n'a absolument plus rien à voir avec le moteur d'origine, tellement les techniciens de la firme avaient travaillé dessus, à tel point d'ailleurs que Venturi avait  fait homologuer ce "nouveau" moteur à son nom.

+Macfly MartyC'est toi qui dit n'importe quoi. Beaucoup de Français sont passionnés de voitures, mais ceux la ne représentent qu'une infime minorité par rapport à la masse des beaufs de la France profonde qui roulent dans leurs Clio ou leurs 206 de merde, et qui s'en battent les couilles des supercars. Il n'y a qu'à voir les réponses de tous les tocards dans cette vidéo, qui ne sont même pas fichus de reconnaitre une Venturi. Quand aux effets nocifs de tous les politicards de ce pays qui font tout pour tuer l'industrie automobile Française, tu ne m'apprends rien. C'est plutôt moi qui pourrait améliorer ta culture automobile.

+Alfred MunkenbeckYou're right. Even if a lot of French appreciate sport of collector cars, the big majority of ordinary French don't care. For them, cars are only a mean of transportation, tools. They prefer to put their money in houses; for instance. On the other hand, the French have the technology to produce supercars, as they manufacture amongst the best F1 engines with Renault, but it's not in their culture.

+HELMUT ALTO Bugatti's been around now for a while, in France where they were originally built. I wouldn't consider them supercar makers but they're certainly luxury car makers. Yes, the war crippled that french market, but they've had a few attempts since, especially from Citroen with cars like the SM. But, the French won't ever really build a supercar because that just doesn't really fit their persona, which is probably why the Venturi failed. For the Italians to come up with something like a Lamborghini, it's something we're used to, but if the French tried to make something like that, it just wouldn't really fit. Yes, they can make luxury cars they can make expensive cars and they can make fast cars, but they can't make a supercar because they just don't quite have the culture for it. The ultimate ride down Parisian streets is a mid thirties Bugatti, not a Lamborghini Countach because people will simply look at you like an idiot, unlike the streets of Maranello.

+Alfred MunkenbeckThe French could produce supercars, but they are not interested. Before WW2, French cars were the most luxurious of the world with Brand as Delage, Delahaye, Hispano Suiza, Talbot, Voisin, Panhard, and many others. It's WW2 who ruined everything.  In 1945, for reconstruction reasons, French government imposed to produce only economical cars. The result was the elimination of the previous brands quoted above. Since, the 3 main French automakers, Peugeot, Renault, and Citroen have targeted only the family car segment for ordinary people, except some attemps like Facel Vega, 1954/1964, the Monica 560 in early 70's, or this one, Venturi. Alpine was a little different, as it was rather a rally car.

+HELMUT ALTO A French thing? Two of my 5 favourite car firms are definitely Citroen, and Bugatti, I love French cars. It's very plain looking. To call it a supercar would have to compare it with the Lamborghini Countach, does that sound right to you? Not really. In my opinion, the French have never really made a supercar, it's just not in their nature to produce speed and madness. The French are better at intelligent design and eccentric styling, the Citroen DS being the perfect example.

Where have you seen that it's Renault part over it ? This car was hand made, and the engine is derived from the PRV French 6 cylinders engine. Venturi worked on this engine so heavily ,as it was ratified as their own engine. Injection and ignition calculator system was made by a French firm, EIA, specialized in high performance systems.
