Everybody has challenges. What nobody takes into account is that to a kid coming from a middle or upper income family, the terrible things that he may experience might not seem so terrible to a low income kid. The low-income kid would probably look at the high-income kid's troubles as silly. But it's subjective. The high income kid's troubles are no less traumatic to HIM, as he has no frame of reference. To those who make excuses for low-income children, while completely negating anybody else's experiences just because they come from 2 different worlds is kind of bullsh*t. A rich kid that loses a parent to cancer at 5, is no different than a poor 5 year old whose parent is murdered. They both had a parent torn from their lives. It's all in the way you live, the way things will affect you, yet no more or less traumatic for the person suffering the trauma.

He was probably raised in a more sober environment. Black and White Americans that grow up around drug and liquor infested communities end up picking up the sluggish drug addict/alcoholic talk.

Regardless of the screw-up, the guy was sentenced to 12 years in 2008 but was back on the streets in 2012. If he'd served his sentence, he'd still be in prison and those people would still be alive.
