I agree with you and lament your circumstances. It is a disgrace that the Ukraine is having to fend off the Russian bear by itself. It is also a disgrace that on the cusp of getting a normally functioning capitalist society in the heart of the mideast that Obama pulled the troops out and let the region descend into chaos. I hope YOU can last two years, I have a feeling that the US will elect an adult next time.

+tbwil11The term weak is completely adequate here. A leader who can be swayed to act against the interests of the people he presumes to rule is called weak. As for the US, it is the only force in the world right now that is able to keep some semblance of peace. That's the task you are charged with, whether you like it or not. Not so long ago Putin claimed in a public speech that he can take any European capital in two weeks if the US is not to get involved, and while that's certainly a bit of populist dickwaving the things that transpired in Ukraine show that there is some truth to it. I actually live rather close to the theater of conflict and I saw the things as they unraveled pretty much right before my eyes. That was quite terrifying. No European country has enough power to fight off Russian military machine by themselves. In these conditions, defaulting on peacekeeping obligations most definitely goes against the interests of American people and people of the civilized world in general.

+ambidexter2017 one other thought, had we acted with strong bruising means of freezing capital and crippling sanctions, especially while the price of oil has Putin on the ropes, those Russian oligarchs just may have found enough cohesion to get rid of Putin. But again, just like his actions toward Cuba, Obama snatches defeat from the jaws of victory. There is a price to be paid for letting such an anti American into the white house.

+ambidexter2017 Well I mistakenly used the term weak, and his actions are interpreted as weak, but his convictions are what he is following. He is ideologically a pacifist. He buys into the narrative that a strong US is bad for the world and should butt out. This isolationism is not new, we saw it before in the 30's. Unfortunately for Crimea and the Ukraine, KGB Putin sees it too and will play Frau Merkel like a fiddle without US involvement. Without a strong US presence, IS is multiplying in numbers and territory too. I hope we can outlast his presidency without something really catastrophic coming to bear but I am nervous about the prospects of it....and I still curse the media who gave cover to his disgusting past and got him elected in the first damned place.

How can your people be so weak as to allow SJW and leftard guiltmongers to get under Western nations' skin and dissuade you from assumed responsibility of keeping world peace? That's kind of a chicken and egg problem however you look at it.

+ambidexter2017 Mmm hmm and how do you think Americans got to be "scaredy"? How do you think such a weak leader emerged to take the Presidency here in the States? World police? Dont you see thats how we were criticized in the European and American main stream media? Dont you think that allowing the "distortions" to go unanswered in day after day,story after story of relentless reporting on Iraq, much of it biased, that the masses accepted it as reality? If you really want to know in which direction your ire should be focused, look no further than the media of Western Europe and American main stream who are supposed to be objective but are not.

If it comes to that, but it doesn't have to come to that. With timely intervention (AKA not being pussies) the threat can be neutralized in its bud. A small expeditionary force to suppress terrorists in Eastern Ukraine and liberate Crimea would prevent a lot of pain in Europe, if not another world war. But Americans are too scaredy for this. What kind of "world police" you are? More like world sucker cowrads' club!
