Rommel wasn't a Nazi. He hated the Nazis. They kept him on because he was the only General who knew what he was doing. He always treated prisoners with perfect courtesy and respect, they got fed the same food as their Wehrmark Guards. Our boys out there in WWII had more respect for Rommel, than they did for Monty. Who, quite frankly, was a bit of a prick. He only won at Tobruk because Hitler wouldn't send Rommel any replacement troops. He was by far the best strategist of the War.

Japan has >120 million, Britain has about 61 million. Both Israel and Norway have about 7 million, so my comparison is closer to equal. I was comparing them off population size because it can be argued that larger populations have more diversity, which can be the cause for downfall.
