people need to understand the political side of things when this took place. At the time the European nations had colonized, invaded and occupied Ottoman Land, and the Ottoman leader was stupidly fooled in to fighting with Hitler who guaranteed the Ottoman Empire that they would beat the invading western armies on Ottoman Land, but that did not happen and the western armies was able to colonize land that once belonged to the Ottoman Caliphate. Documents also show that Hitler wrote a letter to Albanians stating that if they give up all the Jews, all those lands will be given back to Albania, and yet Albanians refused, this is why there is books written by Jews on how Albanians saved them and how Albania was a safehaven for Jews during this time. Also, why have you tried to connect religion to SS Skenderbeg...specially when we know that Albania was the only country in the world to ever proclaim itself an Atheist state.

There were more jews in albania at the end of world war 2 than before the war started. It is the only country in europe that can say that. The albanians took in thousands of jews during the war and protected them from the nazis at great risk to the lives of themselves and family. Also you could show fucked up shit on both sides coming from serbs as well as albanians. There is no honor in burning a church or a mosque. But to portray albanians as nazis is very far from the truth.

Hey, my grandmothers family hosted a Jewish girl named Rachel( in Albanian spelled Rashel) who was renamed Shpresa (meaning "Hope") while his front yard was turned into a German Nazi camp, because it was a noble house with a big yard in the middle of the city, appropriate for that function. He even hosted communists and nationalists simultaneously (big house you see). But if it was about sebs he would be a collaborator for sure. Killing serbs is good!!!

@Bardh87 Bardhili -this is exactly what Hoxhe DIDN'T do because allying himself with Mussolini would have assured pre-1941Albania to become another Yugoslav "republic" under Tito or worse yet- to be divided in half between Yugos and Greeks, the latter taking all Epirus up to the Shkumbine. Already Kosove is free, the Chamerise will be free to return South when Greece and Albania have closer relations under EU. (but their kids will become Ellenized!)

@Tibbe78 u R an idiot skenderbeg name was Gjergj kastrioti u was kidnapt from otoman empire and he lived there untill he grow up and became a gemeral of turkish . but he never forgfot his religion as catholik and mos important as an albanian . As the saying goes: " The enemy of my enemy is my friend" The desire for unity of Albanian lands will never be given up and there will always be bloodshed till it is achieved, for the Albanian population has suffered greatly because of the 3 Treaties made in 20th century by the Great Powers to cut Albania apart.

The connection with Germany was done because of prior decisions made by the Great Powers in Berlin and London to not recognize Albanians Declaration of Independence in 1913 and take more than 50% of it's lands and give it away to Montenegro, Serbia, Macedonia, and Greece, while there are records showing that they were also aware of the inhuman criminal acts and Genocide committed by others against Albanians in the lands that were given away.

Albanians don't care about religion at all so don't try to b.s the world with your propaganda and lies. As for SS yes its true and even today they will enlist if country calls. Germany and Italy were just with Albanians who were betrayed by UK and France as superpowers at that time. Half of Albania was given to greeks and Yugoslavia because of them so SS was last hope to get is back.
