Very good review Mr Zee! How would you compare the refinement of the Passat GTE to the Golf GTE at 100-140km/h in terms of wind/road/engine noise? I have driven a Golf GTE but have not yet been able to drive a Passat GTE (not available in UK yet). How do you think the refinement in general stacks up against more premium saloon cars (BMW 5 Series / Audi A6)?

+Simon Chapman I am very sorry, but I have never driven the Golf GTI, so I cannot compare. I do believe Volkswagen is on a good way with their refinenment strategy. It appears that the Passat is not so much premium like BMW, Audi or Merecedes. But then you might wonna ask yourself, how much premium do I need and how much money am I willing to invest for it. Overall I like the clean style of the Volkswagen interieur. It is not meant to be for toying around, but it is simple and effective. [Jan]

+gabe lettau / I an 52 and remember Lexington Part / Pax River just like this. The old man worked at the test pilot school and I got to spend many days hunting and fishing on the base. I know all the "old people" say it was a better time back then, but it was. I only hope when you get to my age you will have fond memories of your time here. Then you can tell the "kids" around you how much better it was back in the day.
