Chris I know you've moved on in your vehicle life, but for others looking to do the same thing. Aluminum is so much better than steel. It's just as strong if you use the right gauge and it weighs less and doesn't rust. If you anodize it it can be any colour

There are adapters that you can buy for this - most are universal and can be purchased at any large sporting goods store or on our website.
