Top 3 Tips To Speed Up Wi-Fi In Crowded Areas!
This story and more in the FULL episode: //revision3.com/tekzilla/speed-up-wifi-in-crowded-areas-ninite-the-safe-way/ Have tip ideas? Submit them to ...
Literally speaking, unless they switch the old copper cables and put in
fiber optics, no matter what u try to do, u will never get a decent
internet connection in a crowded area during the day. Ever wondered why we
have slower connections than people on another continents? It is because
when the US department of defense created the internet, they did not use
fiber optics. They only had copper available, and they started to set
everything based on copper. In Asia and Europe, when they setup their
networks, they decided for optic fiber, because it was faster. Only
downside is that fiber optic is not cheap.

HakTip - WiFi 101: Beacon Frames and Injection
Today we're following up our discussion on 802.11 frames with an investigation of beacons and a practical example using BackTrack Linux and a technique ...
What practical use is this even? This is like making 100 fake Ap's that are
useless WiFi hotspots with no network attached. All your doing is
broadcasting a name...
Do you have an Iphone 4, ipad or ipad 2 that has trouble staying connected to your router. Here's the fix Basically change the beacon interval to 50 for the magic ...
Didn't help our iPad 2's at the office. We have 4 WRT54G routers, running
DDWRT 14929, setup in a WDS network. The only fix that has helped has been
to assign a manual address to the iPad 2's. I think this bug is related to
the dual band bug the iPad 2 has. If you have a Dual Band router, you may
have to give the 2.4 and 5Ghz bands each their own SSID. WDS networks are
not necessarily dual-band, but they do have multiple routers broadcasting
with the same SSID. That confuses DHCP on the iPad.
Thank you SOOOOO much for this. I have been researching this issue for my
home, my office and another install I did for a friend for over a year now.
I will try it right away. Hopefully, it works. BTW, I heard yesterday from
a Japanese professor who specializes on wireless IT that the issue is not
with the iOS devices, but with the routers. Apparently the router
implementations are all pretty much ad hoc for all manufacturers. That's
why iDevices work best with the Apple Airport router.
First: Thanks for the tip, it fixed my connection problems with my iPhone
3GS running iOS 6! :D If you cannot find the Advanced-Settings tab (it's
missing on Atheros based routers as far as I know), it helps to run the
following commands: nvram set wl_bcn="40" ; nvram set wl0_bcn="40" ; nvram
commit ; You can run the commands at "Administration -> Commands". Just
enter them once, click on "Execute" and you iPhone will have a stable
WiFi-connection with your dd-wrt router again :D
Fined for releasing free software. Tell me again how much you paid for
DD-WRT? People should be fined for posting ignorant comments without
considering the work others have done to provide them with wonderful
software. Do us a favor - load the original Linksys firmware back on your
router and send me your "stupid apple devices" since you don't need them
anymore with your superior Windows laptops. Take some time to read up on
opensource software so you can appreciate it.
okay Im lost I had a iphone 3gs that always stayed connected to my wireless
internet connection in my house though linksys when ever I would leave my
house I wouldnt have internet of course but when I would getr back in reach
it worked fine! well I went to the iphone 4 and now it loses the wifi all
the time even when Im still in my house getting pretty upset that I have to
keep activating the linksys wifi on my phone! please help... Thanks, Dave
I just have to say THANK YOU for this tip. And to the person below posting
the commands to enter in your router when you can't find the menus that you
are talking about. I was so frustrated when my phone started behaving like
this, and you are the only one who actually came with a solution. Thank
you. I would never have guessed! :)
Awesome fix!!! My ipad3 and wife's ipad2 and both iphones would cut out
intermittently!!! Apply the fix on my router, and everything is
connected!!!! Thanks to all you smart people that can figure all this stuff
out for us who are technically handicapped!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks that fixed my connection problem. When I installed dd-wrt this
weekend my iPhone 3GS, laptops, and desktop worked just fine. However, my
new iPad kept losing its Wi-Fi connection. Your tweak corrected that defect.
companies should be fined for releasing crap untested software like this i
have had to waste hours trying different configs to get stupid apple
devices to work while my windows laptops are fine.
My iPhone 3GS and iPod Touch 4th Gen never have Wifi problems. I heard
about a lot of people even one of my friends that has a iPhone 4 always
having wifi issues. Thanks for the tip.
All I can say is THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH! been having this problem for ages
and it's finally fixed! The fact I'm writing this now from my 3GS is
testament to how well this fix works ;)
Wifi optimization tips - some of them are free, some cost money, but they all help save you the headache of dealing with slow, unreliable Internet browsing, video ...
exactly why im watching this... so sick of britain, cant play sc2, no one under 20 can drive anything but a hatchback piece of crap, houses are teeny, no sunny beaches... ugh
i know this video is old, but was hoping someone in the comments could give
some advice. we live too far from our service provider so they wont upgrade
the old, broken line they have out where we are, and NO other providers
will run out here. we're paying for six up and down, but barely getting
one. ANY advice?
My laptop gets 0.3mb with our wifi and 15mb max with the neighbors wifi(not
consistent speed)but my other laptop(which is 5 years older)doesn't care
what access point it connects to it gets a constant 11mb no matter what,
but it's also the computer that can't play more than 720p youtube videos
and can't play 60fps youtube videos while the other one can :(
+EnderChest Dude, you're allowed to buy hardware okay. You may not be allowed to use certain channels. Your ISP can't tell you that you can't buy cables lol.
Internet providers fuck us all over with saying "Uhhh man, get this fucking
fast as hot wheels internet up to 150 Mbp/s. When in reality if you get a
Speedtest result and you happen to get 100 Mbp/s (which I have) you
actually can only download 12.5 MBs, so basically whatever speed you get
see what 1/8 of that is and that's how many Megabytes you can download per
second.
I feel like such a mastermind because as soon as I saw it, I fully
understood how it works.
So, as simply as I can, I will describe its functions, even though he
already did.
Basically, there is stained glasses of different colors that go in a circle
(square). There is a beacon at one point that displays the colors of the
stained glass on top of it. In order to fill in the spaces where he didn't
need to put in stained glass, he used regular glass. The reason there is 2
layers of each color is because in between the switching of colors, for a
very short amount of time, the beacon becomes white and messes up the color
spectrum. What he did to solve the problem was he put a second layer on
top, which actually moves in to take the place of the glass for just enough
time to occupy the beacon while it is switching its color in order to
prevent the white color.
Very well-thought-out idea bro, and to see it works like a charm is
amazing. I'm not sure how old this video is, but it would really be great
for you to make more videos like this one.
