How to Convert DVD to MP4 (PC & Mac)
How to convert DVD to MP4 (PC & Mac) Windows Download ▻ //goo.gl/gwJkn Mac Download ▻ //goo.gl/hsRjf In this video I will be showing you how to ...
Hi Andy. The trial version worked well. After I paid and activated my
license, I tried to rip a "DVD video into the MP4 file format". It converts
the whole file of 2 hours duration in about 35-40 mins, which is great. But
strangely when try to open the downloaded file, it doesn't play.
it says "Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not
support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to
compress the file". Is there a codec I must download too? How and from
where?
I am using a PC with Intel core i7 processor, and AMD Radeon Graphics. O/S
- Windows 8.1.
Hey Joel, you'll want to install VLC Media Player. It can play any media file and it's free open-source software. Visit this link https://ninite.com/vlc and it should automatically download the installer file. Run that installer file and it will install VLC. Then you should be able to play the video file with VLC Media Player.
I am converting old home movies of my parents, who have passed, to my
siblings through our cloud and I LOVE the ease of WinX, however it takes
about 2 hours to upload a 2 hour length DVD. Is this a typical time
allotment? If not, what can I do to speed it up? Thank You!
Ty for replying. After the lengthy 2 hours, and placing it in google cloud, it won't open. ( my family and my pic is not Apple people, only me) why won't it open? I'm trying The MP4 general video tab and it seems to be working at only 30 min of download time. I just hope after that it loads on my google drive.
+Angie Butcher It all depends on your computer's processing speed. If you don't have a very fast multi-core processor it can take up to a couple hours to copy a DVD.
I used a trial version of another software program, Aimerisoft, and it may
just be me but the resulting video was kind of choppy. It was like the
video was in slices rather than smooth if that makes sense. Is this
software smooth, have you heard about an issue like this with Aimerisoft so
it is just me and will probably happen with any ripper I use? Thanks
+Idahoborn66 This has always been smooth for me. You can use the link below the video to try it out for free (it copies the first 5 minutes with the free trial) and if those 5 minutes are smooth then it should be good. You'll then be able to copy the full DVD by purchasing a registration code for the software.
How to convert DVD to MP4 with Handbrake (Quick)
This tutorial explains how to use the free Handbrake application to convert DVD format video to MP4 or M4V. It is a shorter, quicker version of my previous ...
Hi, I am new to DVD ripping and I have some questions. I would like to use
only free programs. i am running a mac on os x el captain and i read an
article on the internet that says that you have to download a seperate file
called libdvdcss to use handbrake for mac and i cant figure out how to
install and i have read several different articles on the matter of
libdvdcss and i still dont understand for some reason i dont have the
correct file it says I'm supposed to have, if you know of any good free
programs like this i would also appreciate it. Thanks and I'm sorry if i
rambled
You can always convert any video to any other format. The problem is that
every time you convert between formats you lose picture information you can
never get back. ISO isn't a video format so I assume you mean DVD. Yes, you
can convert back to DVD but data would have been sacrificed along the way.
So the DVD you end up with will never contain the same level of detail as
before. Whether this matters or whether you will be able to notice is
another story!
I selected 600 to 660 so I only encoded 1 minute. This was to make sure the
tutorial didn't take a long time to encode. Normally I wouldn't bother with
this step. I would have left it at Chapter 1 to Chapter 12 and encode the
whole movie. Different movies have different numbers of chapters but just
leave it on the default for the whole film.
Beautiful tutorial mate. I'm in the process of converting my first DVD that
I ripped using your tutorial on DVDFab, which was also quite excellent.
This tutorial was well laid out, and easy to understand, and this is my
first time ever trying to rip and convert one of my DVDs. Cheers from
Kentucky.
Thanks for the videos Matt, but for some reason Handbrake is saying "No
title(s) found. Your source may be copy protected, badly mastered or in a
format which Handbrake does not support." This is after following your
steps for using DVD Fab HD Decrypter. Any guesses?
You need to rip with DVDFab and then convert with Handbrake. Handbrake can
only deal with unencrypted data which is why you need to rip it first. For
some reason the new version of DVDFab confuses "ripping" and "copying". In
the new DVDFab you need the "Copy" option.
Matt when your DVD has a number of titles (that drop-down box under
SOURCE), why doesn't handbrake automatically convert every title or add
them to the que? I'm finding I have to manually add each TV episode to the
que to be converted.
Are you sure you are selecting "Folder" and then selecting a "VIDEO_TS"
folder? You get that error message if you choose "File" and then select one
of the files within the VIDEO_TS folder.
I ask because most of the time on my computer whenever I download 64-bit
specific software it doesn't work and I didn't want to make the same
mistake with this type of software
Not really. Although it can encode in background if it is minimised so it
is worth checking your task bar for the handbrake icon to if it is still
running.
You will need to rip to your hard drive first using DVDFab. Once you've got
the VIDEO_TS on your hard drive you can then use Handbrake to covert it to
MP4.
For those of you struggling with wrong language..... I had a version saved
with the director's cut. When first decrypting the DVD in the space where
the video has you click the "enable stream processing" square notice that
the available languages "all" are checkmarked. I can only assume this opts
for you which language it chooses. On my first attempt I left them all
checked and ended up with the Director's Cut audio. I decrypted the DVD
again with that box left unchecked (had to manually uncheck this as it
defaults to all) and that worked. I assume the same is true with foreign
languages.
Thanks so much for putting this together!! You have two happy kids who will
be able to watch movies on their Kindles on an airplane (and a happy mom
and other happy passengers). It did take quite some time. The Decrypter
wasn't bad, you could see the progress. The Videora did take about 2 1/2
hours for Madagascar 3.
Works great on older DVDs, but can not get through copyright on newer DVDs
(within the last few years) even after reinstalling DVD decrypter. Is there
a way around this or different program to decrypt? Have tried DVDFab, but
it splits the movie into several files and I can't figure out how to
prevent that.
I just purchased an Acer iconia tablet and it only support mpeg4. Anyhow, I
notice this video and tried it with no issues. Thanks very much... I hope
to see my tutorials of yours eventhough you seem to be a mac user. Can't
stand apple. But thanks
u know wen u said u didnt have to chosse wat yur ipod was ? and the way it
didnt matter, well it does. i did it with the ipone 4 wen i had a classic
and it not wurk. but wen i did it with the classic( one i has) it wurked so
that matters.
After decrypting and then converting I get an error that it can not be
added to my Itunes, I do not have itunes on this computer, do I need Itunes
in order to save the movie to download the MP4 onto my kindle???
does putting it in MPEG4 VGA 1024kbps setting in Video prevent the final
product from having dodgey sound quality? coz usually i just select the top
option and it ends up being perfect visual but bad sound
Thank you! You did an amazing job of walking through each step of the
ENTIRE process. I'm not the least bit technical savvy, but I was able to
convert my DVD's to MP4 with ease. Again, thank you!
Your links and video rock!!! I was able to decrypt and convert in 40
minutes. I wasted all night last night trying to convert DVD's with other
"easy" software that didn't work. Thanks again.
For some reason I can't play it on my Android I've got a Motorola Photon,
help please. It shows that it is a MP4 on my computer...either way I don't
know what I'm doing wrong. Thanks.
WOW! I did it! Thank you so much for your sharing your expertise! You are
an awesome teacher! I've def subscribed to your Channel! Keep doin' whatcha
do! God bless! Thanks again!
It worked the first time. But since it stays at 99% in the videora program.
And I leave for hours on end and it does not work. Have you used it more
than once and work?
Thank you very much for taking your time to make this tutorial. I was able
to share a film I made with friends who don't have a DVD player. Cheers
