+El Ateo There are 2 births for fiba americas and 2 for eurobasket. not all those teams can make it unless some qualify through the olympic qualifying tournament next year
+Jonathan Lopez exactly what i was trying to tell them but they think oh 10 nba players they going to crush the tournament. Learn some fiba basketball canadians
how many times did I told all Canadians and their bigoted little minds with no knowledge of FIBA basketball that having NBA players doesn't mean that you play better than players in other professional leagues, that having 9 or 10 NBA players in a roster doesn't mean that you will go undefeated and win the tournament. jaaaaaaa.. Canada not going to the Olympics even with the best they could possibly do in their HISTORY. FOOLS.. What is CANADA good at? NOTHING.JAAAA... oh, MAYBE FOOLSBALL JAAAAAAAA
+MrJeckel you got canada like the're going to dominate the region and your wrong jajaja you'll see as the year's pass lmao they just lost to VENEZUELA LMAO
+mau lopez You're a sore loser lmao. puerto rico had their full team minus shitty ass carlos arroyo and Canada still killed them. You're just made your team sucks and always will sucks and will never beat Canada at basketball again.
+mau lopez I never said they'd dominate the field. Go look at my comments. None of them have me saying they'd dominate the field. Maybe others said that but i did not. I responded to your initial comment saying that puerto rico's full team would dominate canada's full team. I believe canada's full team would mop the floor w/ puerto rico's full team and stand by that. Maybe you need to brush up on your comprehension skills... not once did i say that canada would abuse the field here in this tournament. You responded to me by saying argentina beat canada when that had NOTHING to do w/ what we were arguing. We were clearly arguing about canada vs. puerto rico and who would win if both had their full teams.I said Canada has a high upside and can be medal contenders in the fiba world cup and olympics in the future due to the core they have assembled but also said they are young & need experience in order to do so. Heck, i didn't even say they'd win THIS tournament. I just said their full team would mop the floor w/ puerto rico's full team. Again, look at my comments. Did i even mention argentina or brazil until you did? The answer is NO. You're just pulling at straws and reshaping your argument against me to get an edge for some reason because you can't admit you're wrong. Since you can't admit it, i'll just leave this quote here from puerto rico's best player JJ barea after the game. - "They have amazing potential. The great thing about them, i've played with a bunch of them. Great, great guys. Great teammates. When i played with them in the NBA, they were awesome. I play with Dwight (powell), now, he's an awesome kid. They could go all the way up. They could keep going up. THey have a lot of ground to cover still but if they keep that group together for the next couple of years, they can be the best team"Now, canada will NEVER be the best team in the world (I assume barea meant to say one of the best) but their mix of talent along w/ the experience they will garner playing together for the next several years means they can be really good in the future. However, i said canada's full team is so talented that they could take down puerto rico's full team right now and i stand by that statement.Could canada's full team take down argentina or brazil's full team right now? The answer is probably no. I believe they can take down PR's full team because that program is in their twilight years. Their best players are guards who are largely old and their best prospects are too young at this point to make up for it. That's what i believe. As you may notice, i've repeated myself nearly 6 times in this one comment. That's by design. I want to drill into your head what my view is on this so you don't stray off and bring other teams into it to help your "point" out. Hopefully, i'm making myself clear here.
+dave b we all now against this puerto rican team canada are going to win. Puerto rico had 4 players injured and 3 of there main guys didn't want to play for the team. Canada has great talent for year's but for now they need experience in the fiba world
+MrJeckel you need comprehension i also said that canada didn't have a chance against argentina or brasil with full team anyway argentina beat them without their full team lol jajaja
+MrJeckel we are not even talking about puerto rico vs argentina lol & we will see that in the future maybe you're right maybe not jajajaja but guys like you think that because they have nba players they are going to dominate but you're going to be WELCOME TO FIBA it's not the same!!
+Jonathan Lopez Brady heslip is not the best player for Canada. Jeez... He's just a shooter. He can't defend, pass, rebound, steal or do anything else. He can't finish around the rim and could hardly dribble for crying out loud. There's more to basketball than shooting. Heslip wouldn't even play w/ their full team in the roster.Canada's full team would mop the floor w/ puerto rico. I stand by that statement. They are missing thompson, murray, ennis and lyles . Canada had the game vs. argentina close for most of the game including being down 4 w/ 50 secs left despite their inexperience and lack of a full team... Saying they struggled means their upside is far higher than puerto rico's who btw lost to them as well. Did puerto rico "struggle"? When puerto rico lost to argentina on day 1, did i come here to comment? No. Why? They had nothing to do with my statement. Nothing.Heslip isn't even close to being the best player for Canada. Honestly, i'm done even replying to someone that thinks that. I bet you'd say he's better than half of the guys in the NBA too like you did earlier regarding half the teams in europe... I'd just like to note that heslip played for minnesota's summer league team and was one of the worst players there. Yeah, on their SUMMER LEAGUE team... Jeez. I'm done here.
Canada with a full team would not mop anything against Puerto Ricos Team. Against the Top 4 Teams in America it could go either way. Having NBA players does not make you the best team, Canada is Already struggling and will continue to struggle in this tournament against the Top Teams in the Americas, they may be able to get does wins but they will certainly will not mop any floors. In my opinion the best player for Canada is the short 3 point shooter(cant remember the name) and he is not an NBA player.
+mau lopez Do you know how to read? I said canada with its full team would mop the floor w/ PUERTO RICO's full team, not argentina... seriously, learn how to comprehend before you comment. Did i come and reply to your comment when argentina beat puerto rico? NO. Yet, here you are itching to comment to me about something irrelevant to what we were talking about.
+Jonathan Lopez As i said. Canada with its "full team" would dominate puerto rico with its "full team". Maybe you should read my comments again. I told you that canada has their 3rd best PG starting for them and a dude in scrubb that wouldn't even make the team if not for the other guys having different circumstances. Heslip is not the 2nd best player on team canada, lol... If canada had its full team, he wouldn't even get minutes. You wouldn't know that though because you don't follow what they are doing.Puerto rico lost to argentina as well, did they not? Unless you're replying to that other guy, my comments were strictly between pr and can.
so much for Canada dominating..loll.. How many times do basketball experts have to repeat themselves that being a NBA player does not make you better than other players around the league. The two best players in the Canada team are Wiggins and the small 3 point shooter for Canada, and he is not NBA.
Fiba refs are a joke who allowed Argentina to play dirty in the first half and Canada didn't get the same courtesy.Plus none of these idiot refs speak english, all these teams speak spanish and cry for calls and get them.Canada players talk to the ref and the ref looks at them like they have two heads.Canada always get cheese balled by fiba refs,it's the norm!
+MrJeckel argentina 94 canada 87 told you it's not the same in fiba canada need more experience. Not because you have 10 nba in your roster you're gonna win every game, the perfect example usa in the 2000's and even with better roster than canada. ITS NOT THE SAME IN FIBA UNDERSTAND THAT
+Jonathan Lopez P-Rico isn't a better team anymore. Sorry but they aren't. Even if you take their full roster vs. team canada's full roster, canada is better now.
+Jonathan Lopez "Half the teams in europe have player that are better than half the players in the NBA" - LMAO, are you freaking kidding me? Nikola mirotic won euroleague MVP and rode the BENCH in the NBA. Stop that bullcrap right now That's ridiculous. Nemanja bjelica won euroleague MVP and is probably serbia's best player. He will be a BENCH PLAYER for the minnesota timberwolves next season. Sergio rodriguez is known as one of the best guards in europe He couldn't hang in the NBA. He burned out. Look at spain's national team. Their best players play in the NBA. When argentina was at their best, they were led by ginobili (an nba player). Ayuso is 38 yrs old now. Again, he can be overwhelmed now. He is no longer young and ripping & running. When puerto rico was at their absolute best, they were led by an NBA starter in carlos arroyo. You clearly have NO IDEA what you're talking about. LOL at saying the best europe has to offer is better than half the guys in the nba... that's so ridiculous. I'm literally laughing out loud right now. I'm not in the class of bigots. I'm in the class of realists. You have no idea how talented these players on team canada are because of your bias against the NBA. For anyone to say something that asinine is crazy. half the teams in europe have better players than half of the nba... LMAO, please.
You know sooo much about PRican basketball that I bet you were a fan yourself. Funny that you went completely off the point when I said that the puertorican team has players that are better than NBA players in their roster..Shi@%4t half the teams in Europe have players that are better than half the players in the NBA. Puerto Rico has excellent shooters, better shooters than Canada and they are not in the NBA, at least the commentators know that and say it on air. Ayuso, Vassallo, Rivera are all known to be among the best shooters in the world, you wouldn't know that because you are among bigoted minds that believe all NBA players are better than all other professional players. that's not how it works. Believe me when I tell you that Canada will NOT make it to the finals.
+Jonathan Lopez 1. You're so stuck in the past that it's affecting your ability to look into the future. I didn't say that puerto rico had bad players. However, their full team does not have the level of talent team canada has. The days of arroyo, ayuso and barea ripping and running as one of the best backcourt talent collections in the world has come to an abrupt end. Daniel santiago was a really good player for puerto rico but is now way too old to be dealing w/ young, talented players. They are in the twilight of their careers and can be beat by talented squads now. Besides, the players from canada are also good players that play in good professional leagues as well.2. P-rico had 4 guys injured & were w/o a center? Ahh, ok. Team canada played 11 guys in this game and only 9 of them played over 10 mins. The other 2 combined for 11 mins. Canada could have easily beaten puerto rico if they had olynyk as puerto rico couldn't shoot worth a lick in the 1st half. Canada played their worst game from a shooting perspective all tourney and still won. They don't even have their full team, btw. As i was telling mau, they're missing 5 ROTATION players. Yeah, this team canada is totally different from the one you'll see in 2016 whether it be Rio or the last ditch tourney to get an olympic qualifying spot. Trey Lyles, Tristan Thompson, Tyler Ennis, Jamal Murray and a healthy olynyk w/ guys like wiggins, nicholson ,etc. would blow the doors off puerto rico.3. There you go talking about the past. Canada never dominated PRico in int'l play because they always had trash teams w/ bad talent & coaching. Their last competitive senior national team's best player was joel anthony for crying out loud. Before that, it was samuel freaking dalembert. Both would come off the bench for this team if at all. Puerto rico's reign is winding down. Ayuso, arroyo, barea and santiago are in the twilight of their careers. They are old. I'd honestly take canada's backcourt over puerto rico's at this point. That's puerto rico's strength and always has been. If they can't dominate you there, they won't win. Period. 4. "clown players in the NBA"? LOL... wow. spoken like a fan of a team w/ clown nba burnouts. Renaldo balkman (one of those guys you probably were referencing) was trash in the NBA and even trash in the garbage philipino league. devon collier (one of the injured guys you were probably referencing) would be the 4th or 5th best big if he were on team canada's full senior olympic roster. Isaac sosa wouldn't make team canada's roster in 2016. Barea's a good, serviceable nba player which is why he's the best player on your team. Arroyo was the best puerto rican before that and did so while STARTING in the nba. I guess they're only clowns when your team isn't sporting 2 of them as your best freaking players, huh? That's what is funny about this. You are jumping through hoops to prop up puerto rico's team when you know deep down that their reign of them being really good is probably coming to an end. Team canada is not only a match for other pro players on other international rosters... they are also comprised of players more talented than some those guys as well now. Team canada used to not have talent. They do now. This isn't your mom or pop's team canada. This is a different one w/ the largest talent pool to choose from in canadian basketball history. You'll see soon enough when you take the blinders off. This is the worst this crew will be going forward. w/ more experience, this team can be a medal contender (2020). For how great they were, p-rico never medaled in a fiba world cup or olympic games. I believe canada at their peak will be legitimately competing for medals in both tournaments. That's how much i believe in the talent pool they're developing right now. Open your eyes and stop relying on past "glory". The future is now.
+MrJeckel you guys are so dumb... the players from PRico are good players, they are all professional players and play in different leagues all year round. The NBA prefers to sign players from the U>S and Canada even tough there are players as talented or even more talented in other countries.... PRico had 4 players injured and without a center position player for this game. This PR TEam could have beaten easily the Canada team if they had 14 players in their roster instead of 10 for the game. Please People Canada never has dominated Prico in international play in Mens senior basketball, same reason why Prico is better Ranked than Canada in Fiba basketball. Remember even U.S Teams with all-star players have lost in international play ...even to PRico. This Canada team with clown players in the NBA will not go far, they are no match for other professional players of other leagues.
+mau lopez Canada just got brought together. A lot of these players haven't played together since AAU (high school). They were the last team to get together in the summer time & only had a week or 2 to prepare for this tournament and fiba americas. They're building chemistry right now.I believe if they had their full team though, it wouldn't matter. They'd mop puerto rico up because some of the guys they are missing can hit puerto rico where it really hurts. That's all i'll say about that.
+mau lopez I understand that international play is very much so reliant on chemistry. However, when the talent gap between those 2 nation is that massive, i'll go w/ the talented bunch. Also, all of the players for team canada are familiar w/ rick pitino's coaching style since he's a college coach. It's not free flowing or anything like that. He coaches his teams how to be gritty. It's easier for talented teams to beat gritty teams versus teams w/ free flowing styles.
+MrJeckel all the guys from team puerto rico are from the bsn league(puerto rican) except barea & all of them are not in starting lineup and see how canada look against them. Jajaja you think you'll win with names
+mau lopez I disagree.Canada's full team would overwhelm puerto rico's full team. Remember, olynyk was on this roster but didn't play due to an injury. Trey lyles, Tristan Thompson, Tyler Ennis & Jamal Murray weren't even on this team. That's 5 guys w/ legit pro ability... especially jamal murray who looks like he has the chance to be a really good pro very soon. The only thing puerto rico would have over canada's full team is experience. Canada's team is very young. However, the expanding talent gap between these 2 programs would make me lean Canada. Again, this team didn't even have jamal murray, a guy who was their best player in the pan am games (albeit a tournament w/ less talent, murray is a future top 5 nba pick). Cory joseph might be team canada's 3rd best PG behind murray and ennis... he started for canada in this tourney.
