i've heard a couple of their songs, like Psycho Killer, and the big MTV hit
from Remain In Light, the name of which escapes me, and i just didn't like
them at all
Larry, I'll have to disagree with you about "Take it away", it's a
fantastic brilliant song! One of my all time favorite Paul McCartney Songs.
I purchased this box set almost solely for the song Take it away ;) Such a
terrific catchy well produced song. Did you hear the demo version of it,
the demo really shows it evolution to a slick song.
I kinda lose interest in McCartney in the 80s. too poppish for my taste. I
will say this where Paul "failed" for me in the 80s, George was alot
better. when you ask me what the best solo Beatles of the 80s is, i would
say "Cloud 9" George was an overall improvement over Paul in the 80s.
+James Boyce with that said i do prefer George's collaboration with the Traveling Wilburys than Paul's with Micheal Jackson. i wonder heres another question what do you think when you hear John (& Yoko's) "Double Fantesy" and "Milk & Honey" album? do you think John wouldve been "eclectic" as Paul or less (i don't know what that word means).
+Derek Roberts As much as I love George's Cloud Nine album I don't think it's any better than Paul's Tug Of War, but I would say on a par, but stylistically George's music has never been as eclectic as Paul's so it loses something for me.I don't think Cloud Nine contains any classic George songs, whereas TOW has the title track and Wanderlust as two of Paul's best post-Beatle songs and both are majestic. I think also that Paul's voice was a thousand times better and flexible than George's too, no contest there at all. I own all George's albums so I'm not coming from a completely pro Paul stance.
+Arvin Borkar I appreciate you like my food reviews but please realize I do other types of videos on this channel as well for variety, and always will, thank you.
Like you, and a lot of others apparently, "Tug Of War" was the last
McCartney album that I bought for awhile, I skipped his next three records.
But it's a pretty good album, I think overall. He put a lot more thought
and effort into his lyrics for a change. "Ebony And Ivory" is definitely a
corny song, but on the album it fits in very well with the struggle and
reconciliation themes of the record. The one song that just doesn't seem to
fit in is "What's That You're Doing?" - and I agree with what you said
about it. Good points about McCartney's music in the 80's. Are you going to
continue after "Pipes Of Peace"?
+D ouce Erm . . . In 2015 we still review old art. That's exactly what this is. What a total false equivalency to compare it to old technology. We still talk about classical music, we still talk about jazz, it's fine to still talk about music from 1982 as well. :)
+Michaelpony So what? Are we going to start reviewing things like the Model T? Or how about the D-12 toaster by General Electric from 1919? It's effing 2015 for Gods sake!!!
Well you are just gonna have to do another one of these vids on the
Canadian band Hedley and his Hello song to. Just to compare reactions maybe
do a side by side split screen: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZIBrkoAN0yk
Also Train in Vain is hands down the best Clash song for me. I also love
Rock the Casbah (I know some people will hate me after I said that),
Hitsville UK, Car Jamming, Know Your Rights, Police and Thieves, English
Civil War, and Guns of Brixton.
I can't think of an "life altering" stories at this moment. But I do have
one. When my husband and I were planning our move from Hamilton to Ottawa,
we decided we just need a small uHaul trailer (to be pulled by my step
father). We only had a small one bedroom apartment at this time. When
moving day came, the only trailer they had was loaned out to someone and
they were broken down in the US. So they ended up giving us a small cube
truck for the same price. Turns out we NEEDED a larger hauler. :)
I really enjoyed your stories, Larry. You had me at the edge of my seat! If
I believed in angels, well, I suppose I do, I'd think you have a guardian
angel. That black ice story is just too coincidental. Also, assuming there
is an afterlife, maybe your wife was telling you not to get rid of your
CDs?
do some more 80's...like Skid Row....Queensryche.. bands with great
vocals... and then maybe some videos of compare same bands but with
different guitarist...like rate Ozzy...with the array of guitarist...
Rhodes, Lee, Wylde ( those 3 specifically)
+Raul Ruiz de Velasco I was thinking of doing a video on his passing, but when a famous person dies everyone rushes to make a video (not to show the person respect but to get views...) so I usually don't bother, but I might in a few days, thanks.
+Nickelodeonman95 Fuck the two douchebags who just wanted to reply and say "The Beatles Are Overrated" and "I Give Them a 5" Fuck them both. GNR is overrated and overplayed to the max.
My top 5 favourite bee gees songs are 5. Massachusetts4. Islands in the stream3. How deep is your love2. Words1. You win againYeah disco pop although I wouldn't call them pop because they are not cheesy enough. Rhythm and blues/rock and roll/disco/ballad (power) that my genre for them.
+Connor Mumford Yes, at some point I will rate them, but what do you rate Guns n Roses out of 10?

Paul McCartney Album Reviews: Band On The Run (1973)
+Kaleb Schulz I think bluebird is a beautiful jazz type of of song, and only Paul McCartney can make a song about a bird! Paul's music is usually what is so great about his songs is his brilliant music and even when his lyrics are very good or great. He's always been more of a music genius than a lyric genius. But Bluebird does have deeper meaning,it has the same theme of escape and freedom that the a lot of the album does.
Not a big fan of the new background.. I really enjoyed your living room
setting. Anyways who really cares about that haha love this album and great
video!
Hey Larry, great review I totally agree, this is a great record, my
personal favorite is the title track. Just curious, are you planning on
buying the Tug of War and Pipes of Peace reissues?
You might be able to get the cd as an import as it was remastered in the UK
in 1993. The album is underrated. Four out of five stars. What do you think
of Mull of Kintyre?
Don't expect this album to be reissued in the Archive Colliction anytime
soon. i just saw an unboxing of "Tug of War" and it says the next one is
gonna be "Flowers In The Dirt" theres not even another album with it like
there was with the rest of them. i was hoping Paul would finish his 70s
Wings albums. it doesnt look like it :(
Just picked up Tug of War and Pipes of Peace Deluxe Box Sets. The next
release is going to be Flowers in the Dirt. They sure are skipping a lot of
his earlier 1970's catalog under Wings. I wonder if they cannot find the
original source tapes? I give London Town a 10 out of 10.
