If this is the 13.5 in, I just got one in my car with the 600 W JL amp, I gotta say it was worth the $1,900. Thing bumps smooth af, great job JL Audio.

I've got a 15" which is on 500w rms and I paid £15 for it second hand and then £60 for the amp and the installation is easy enough if you have time to watch videos

+Nash Make sure it's a subwoofer amp not a full range amp because a subwoofer amp has a 80 HZ lowpass filter to filter out anything above 80HZ.

so the subwoofer can't connect straight to a normal passive speaker connection. it will need an amp for a car?

+Nash Totally possible. In fact, a lot of people do it. All you need is a power inverter for the amp and then you hook the rest up as usual. Just make sure all the speakers/subs are in a box.
