+MaaikeInJapan it all depends really on the quality of the ingredients, and less to do with whether it's a pancake or crepe or thick or thin. A good pancake or crepe with high quality ingredients made right taste fantastic with high quality butter and syrup. If it's cheap ingredients, no matter how good it looks, it's gonna taste crappy.

+Gatrehs Japanese ones are over an inch thick, they look more like a cake. American style ones are a lot thinner.

pancakes...filam comfort food? I thought it was like spaghetti with hot dogs cooked in the oven, spam sandwiches, corn beef with cabbage, hot dogs sauteed in tomatoes/onions etc never heard of pancakes. They pancakes do look good though!
