+Julie Shahid You can still drive, it might affect your rating from those who try to request for it. The majority of customers usually do not request for it.
If you live in the suburbs and drive someone into the city. would you take
another ride in the city. or stay offline and go back to the suburbs for
your next ride?
Hey Brian great video.
Just got the iphone from uber I noticed I can't text or call the rider? I
take it I have to use my own phone, will they then have my number etc?
+KevinProNOW You can still call or text the rider. Every customer has the same number. It rotates with every new request you accept to the new customer's number.
How do you contact Uber when you have problems or questions? Also what app
or what can I use to be able to see or locate other Uber drivers in the
area I am working?
How To Request A Specific Uber Driver Or Passenger

can a rider request a specific driver that not close or next to me ( I
might live 1 mile away from rider ) ,of course I do drive uber 3 times a
week for over 10 hours each,so he/she is not my only passenger, but I know
this rider goes for a long trip certain days and want that business ...what
I mean is if they trust me to take them whenever they need their next ride
,can they request me again on any different day?... how? TY
+The Rideshare Guy --lol, after I asked the question I pondered on the ways you gathered the data and figured as much. :) I appreciate all the tips and information because it has really helped.
+Joni Johnson I'm The Rideshare Guy :) Haha jk, it's not that hard to figure it out. I tested it a bunch myself, talked to other drivers and uber/lyft used to give out this info more freely a couple years ago..
Just received an email from Uber saying that they re decreasing the
downtime for drivers by having them accepting new trips while they re in on
a trip.
+rajaoui2007 Yea I heard/saw! Good news for drivers, hopefully they'll implement more driver friendly features: //therideshareguy.com/10-features-that-id-like-to-see-uber-add-to-help-its-drivers/
Thanks for the info Harry. I didn't know the Lyft system was different I
had a situation where I had a passenger in my car and tried to request me
but it kept picking other drivers I didn't understand why
+Nikita Gofman Yup, since it's based on distance AND proximity it won't always work. But you should be able to just have the pax cancel and re-request and that resets the other driver so you are more likely to get it. I've never had to do it more than 2-3 times though :)More info here on my very first podcast: therideshareguy.com/episode1

You know Will that navigation sent me around in a circle also and I had to
use the other navigation system. That is great advice too about being in
areas that are a little shady. I always turn off my driver mode also
because I don't feel comfortable in those areas. Thanks for your valuable
advice Will. Love ya!!
+Christopher Ayestas Wow Christopher have you ever heard the saying about assuming? I read your response and was like what the fuck man! In the video I say "there is also another spot on i-5 and as I go through it I don't want to get any of those rides from those people", well my man I cant think of any spots off of i-5 that I would pick up rides from a certain race but I do know I will get rides from the UW and I'm not a big fan of picking up college kids, I have mentioned that in other videos. Tons of people of all different races have posted on my videos (feel free to look) and I have been respectful to them all replying to every single comment, no one is racist here.
your the most user friendly guy of them all its like talking to my best
friend. make a lot of great points that touching things that people care
about! I love your videos! especially love that quirky voice when you talk
about the old roads cobblestone roads back in the old days! :-)
Weird....because my Uber GPS does not have any voice or audio-directions.
Am I missing something or is there a problem with Uber App? I have used two
different phones as well and never had a voice tell me where to go. Just
follow the stupid app which is wrong about 40% of the time.....good thing I
know where I am going in my city. I will have to find out how to make it
speak....lol
+MrMarckeedee It should give you verbal directions, if they don't know the address they will at least need to give you a name and you can put that in the GPS, if they don't give you a name they need to think of something close to it. But yes you should have audio in the app.
Is the pay hourly ,in drive mode, or soon as you turn on the app? The
reason I ask is if you aren't "comfortable" in an area they have you drive
too and want to leave but it will be taking 15-20 minutes, those 15-20
minutes are kind of being wasted ?
+Christopher Lillard I'm sorry to hear that man, don't forget they get a ton of applications so they can be quite selective I don't blame them when they have such a large pool to choose from. I'm not sure about the LA area but from what I know you can do pretty well on the weekends in most cities, especially at night. Try and focus on working Saturday as much as possible and then if you need a light day make sure it's Sunday, here in Seattle it get's slow about 5pm on Sunday. Good luck man.
+Will Penley This is fucked up Lyft declined me because of my driving record. I have no DUI's just several moving violations but im almost positive it isnt above the 7 points in 2 years. Uber accepted me though, do you think I can still do real well if im working weekends only in Los Angeles ?
+Christopher Lillard Hi Christopher, no you are not paid while just sitting in drive mode. Be patient sometimes you might be logged in for 4 hours doing small $10-15 rides and then you get a $62 ride and a $45 ride back to back.
I did the one earbud in the ear thing my 1st & 2nd day driving. I keep it
in the left ear because most passengers usually sit in the right or middle
seats. Comes in super handy. I always ask the passenger about 30 seconds
prior to their stop if there is any where in particular they would like to
be dropped off.
Just signed up with Lyft, as I promised, Will.
Mentor ride scheduled for this upcoming Monday at 9:00am, PST.
I'll follow up when my background check clears, and my Lyft Welcome Kit
arrives........
Thanks again- keep doing what you're doing.
I plan on being the 1 in 5 -10 Newbie folks who actually invests the
mental/financial time and willingness to make this thing work...........as
with most folks, the hardest thing is suppressing the ego and doing what
works, instead of what "I want to do.."
-Lance (Skip)
+Lance Parker Well best of luck man, you must be in NewYork? Crazy they want 100 rides for the bonus!
Should Uber Passengers Tip Their Drivers?
//therideshareguy.com/should-uber-passengers-tip-their-drivers/ Want your first ride free on Uber? Use the code 'uberRideshareguy' and get $20 off your ...
You absolutely have to tip your Uber Driver. They often make less than
minimum wage. Let's say you take a short 1 mile Uber ride and that that you
get charged $4.
The driver had to drive 5 miles to pick you up.
Uber takes a $1 safe rider fee from the driver plus a 20% cut. So the
driver got $2.20 total for driving 6 miles.
The average cost of driving is $0.56 per mile for gas, depreciation, wear
and tear, etc. It cost the Uber driver $3.36 to drive you that 1 mile and
he got paid $2.20 before taxes. What kind of evil scum would not tip them?
I'm so sick of this tipping shit. As far as I know, and i'm not a driver
nor have a used an Uber, but the training video I watched (research) said
Uber wants a cashless system so they tell customers tipping isn't required.
The video showed if you're offered a tip you should decline it. If they
offer a second time you can accept.
As a customer, I'm sick of EVERY SINGLE SERVICE PERSON OUT THERE thinking
they're owed a tip. My local sandwich shops now not only have tip jars,
but when you swipe your card the machine automatically gives you four tip
options, and one "no thanks". BULLSHIT.
The same goes for this. If you want to make more than what you make being
an entrepreneur, get a different job. Why not tip the plumber or the
electrician?
+Alexander DelargeCalm down dude, you might have a heart attack! Breathe in...breathe out...breathe in...breathe out. There you go...doesn't that feel better now? You're welcome (=
+FrankJDMYeah exactly! I like to donate to worthy causes for the advancement of science and technology on several fronts like space exploration among others and tips help me to accomplish that. I am not a formally educated man but I do support all the people around the world with the brains, ambition and skills to advance humanity on a whole so people need to start caring and striving to advance our knowledge by helping your fellow man. The guy you help out could someday be the inventor of perpetual energy or the assistant of the inventor freeing up his time to use his mind productively then you can say you had a part no matter how insignificant in advancing society to the higher level and to that I say great job and tip my hat to you.
+EXCURSION That's Exactly what it is they Really don't give 2shits about other peoples situation I feel like theres alot of people who do need to get tipped for certain jobs
+FrankJDMThere a lot of rich people with huge homes that also order pizza and don't leave a tip...I think there is a term for that... Rich people with ZERO class?
+EXCURSION Exactly Bro the Rich people don't tip for shit its always the people who are humble and work hard that mainly do it shit I tip drivers most of the time cause I know how it is even though I still be making $1200-$1500 after uber and lyft take theyre cuts cause I be working like 60hrs a week and wearing down my car
+FrankJDMThese fucking low life pricks KNOW they should be tipping us period end of sentence. How the hell do you take a ride for 1/2 the price of a cab and think the tip is included unless you are severely mentally challenged (which I must admit there are lots of these in the south where Trump the moron is highly regarded)?
Uber charges $1 a mile but your sorry ass probably doesn't tip them either (if you are even still allowed on the app). Go fuck yourself now prick breath.
+EXCURSION Who the fuck said anything about not tipping your pizza delivery driver or waiter?? Not me! I'm bitching about your CAB DRIVER who is already charging you $3 a mile, expecting a tip. Or the person at the counter service restaurant expecting a tip. That's like tipping at McDonalds - its stupid.
+Michael B. , I DO tip service people all the time! I tip the pizza driver $5 min every time even if he's only 3 blocks from me, I tip the tow truck driver who pulls me out of danger, I tip the mechanic (especially the honest ones who charge less for the same or better service than the franchise ones), I tip the maid when I leave the hotel room by leaving some cash on the table, I tip anyone the provides a service and guess what? They always remember my name and treat me like family and there is nothing wrong with that! In fact next time I'm down on my luck (it can happen at any time trust me) I know that what goes around comes around and somehow I've never felt abandoned in life because you get what you give. cooperation OVER competition = better society. Oh and by the way I have also worked many service jobs and with concern to the food industry (pizza in my case)...customers who are known "stiffs" tend to get "slower" service. Think about it...as a driver you see your order is coming up and another order to go along with it...the other order is a well tipping customer so when the 2nd order is boxed and bagged what is your instinct? RIGHT! You deliver the 2nd pizza first and it arrives in 15 minutes all hot and fresh with EXTRA Parmesan cheese and red pepper packets (and if you saw the order being made or assisted some "extra" toppings since we wouldn't want to skimp on a great customer!)...then as you are on your way to the stiff, you notice a sensation to take a bathroom break so do you deliver the pizza first or stop off at a gas station and relieve yourself first? Ha ha...by the time the pizza arrives cold the guy complains and grudgingly pays for his pizza after waiting 55 minutes. Hey if the customer is looking out for your best interest don't you think the drivers will reciprocate? Absolutely! When an above average tipper is identified , drivers will sometimes almost fight to be the lucky guy to get that order! I've even seen them bring free coke or a pizza that was cancelled to show their gratitude for the good tipper. On the other hand I've seen driver actually spit on a pizza as they were boxing it when a known stiff orders a delivery so if you like human ingredients in your food, keep stiffing your waiters and drivers! Some people say these drivers and waiters are morons which is why they work at these jobs but if they feel regarded in such a disrespectful way, your food may suffer a "disrespectful" act of sabotage so just know that these things do go on in restaurants and there is NOTHING you can do about since it's one of the only ways these people have some power in life. You better respect everyone no matter what their lot in life and don't be a douche!
+Just An Old Southerner You know what, I understand your point, but I tip to whoever I like to and whenever I want to, and there is no body of legislature to prevent me from doing so. Thanks for your concern anyways.
+Mandy Hamilton I'm in the U.S. too. For more than a decade I've worked as a property insurance claims adjuster. I deal with plumbers, electricians, handymen, etc all day every day. There is no reason at all to tip a trades person. I mean, seriously - they do a job and charge appropriately for that job. If they needed an extra $10, they'd raise their prices by that amount. Do you tip your gynecologist or ophthalmologist?
+Michael B. We tip our electricians and plumbers too!! I don't know where you are coming from, but here in the U.S. we do tip our handyman electrician/plumber!

Its a little different here in Australia as we're all still catching up. I
own a Toyota Rav4. Can i become an Uber driver or do i need another
make/model car ?
When you are sitting around with no urber fare for a hour or two, it's called a dead zone and not a bi polar zone. Hey i just called you an asshole because I'm a taxi driver, and the company i work for is about to go belly up. I'm probably going to work for urber sometime next year. How many years have you been working for urber?
Uber drivers are worst kind of scum. They don't have commercial insurance,
greedy bastards. Assholes like this guy who are putting peoples lives in
danger should be jailed for atleast a year.
+Red Dragon I don't understand your question. You can use it to go anywhere. Except maybe federal controlled installations such as military bases and such.
+Mos Eisley You just need to have 1 or more years of driving experience. If you transferred states that's fine just as long as you've had a license for more than a year you're good.
Serious question: I'm young and I'm trying to enter the job market and I
hope I don't sound stupid for asking this but at the beginning of the
application process it asked for my social and I'm super skeptical about
putting it in there?
2nd question: I'm only 18, what are the chances of me being hired by uber
+Derrick Kirwa You must be at least 21 to drive for Uber, so your application will be denied instantly. They ask for your social security number so they can do a background check on you.

Does your name need to be on the insurance and registration of the car you
are driving or can I drive my parent's car? I am 21 so I have that
eligibility.
Great video, I just started lm looking forward to it. I think it helps to
have a positive attitude also! Which you have and a nice personality. I'm
going to get the passenger app as well, that was great info!
Absolutely 20 times better than those fucked up $7/hour menial jobs that
are offered around.
Too bad Uber didn´t exist when I was living in Canada. I´d DEFINITELY have
applied for it!!
+Mark Molson For sure my man. You're not going to retire driving Uber, but if your safe and enjoy people then you will do well. And there is freedom in driving when you want in your own car.
uber is polluting our environment with all these cars on the road we do not
need that many taxis and is over
saturating the market please take public transportation please save the
planet and our wages from the Jewish Zionists takeover of America
you are better off working at MacDonald. uber drivers r now making minimum
wage please factor in tickets, accidents, insurance, gas and maintenance
into your equation. why must the Jews own and control all our lives.
+JEWJUDAS JUDAS You're polluting our planet with your stupid comments. Please factor in that this is real life not some hippie fantasy. And for some people making minimum wage on your own terms while driving your own car is better than working at McDonalds. I live in a city where the pollution is happening no matter if i'm on the road making money or not. I usually just delete jerkoff comments from my page but I felt I wanted to respond to this because I can't stand people like you who talk a big game and talk about the problem but do little to nothing to add toward the solution. you racist f%ck
+Alan R. hum that i'm not sure, I would imagine there is no age limit to use the service, as long as the payment method was correct with the app, so if you wanted to send you child to school with an Uber, as long as the payment and call came through your app then it should be fine. if I find out something different I will let you know.
The $20 is not taken out of your income/total earnings from my understanding. The $20 credit is supplied by Uber themselves not from the driver. What makes more sense and seems obvious is that if that were to be the case then nobody would be give their code out since they're giving away $20 and receiving $5 back.
Someone told me that Uber has a vehicle hierarchy, where a driver with an
SUV gets paid more than a driver using a Honda (or similar). If so, how
would I know in what category my vehicle is listed? And how is the fare
computed?
Thanks !
+urkoolUncle Yeah there isnt different level uber x which is base level which is almost any car. Uber black is Luxury LX platform cars like Bmw 745, Mercedez s550 and similar....UBer Suv is a Suv....The reason why they charge differently is simple a new honda accord goes for around 25000 base model and S550 goes for 80-120k and a SUV long ones go for 70-90k ........If you want to be driven in style then your going to pay more since the car is worth 4-6 times a normal car and SUV is mainly for people needing more than just 4 seats so Helps plus Suv wast a lot of gas.
So say you gave them that card and by chance a week later they decided to
us uber and by luck they got you, and you gave them a $20 ride will you
only get the $5 or do you get the 80%?
Go to your partner login. Sign in they should let you order thru there. If you dont have the option email your uber partner in your city and order it from them.
