How to fix "Unable to run bootsect to make the USB device bootable" Windows 8.1
When i try to create a bootable USB device using the Windows 7 USB DVD Download Tool, i am seeing the status "Files copied successfully. However, we were ...
Unfortunately didn't work for me.
My solution is find another computer with windows 7 installed and make the
bootable disk there.
The same USB stick which I couldn't make a bootable usb disk in Win 8.1,
worked perfectly in Win 7 and I could make a bootable disk out of it.
Try this, if the video didn't work! Open task manager > Run new task >
cmd.exe with admin privileges. Type "bootsect /nt60 E: /force /mbr"
(replace the E:/ with your USB drive, after you get this error. This method
worked for me since the video method didn't!
HAd this on Windows 8.1 64 Bit too. Run "bootsect /nt60 E: /force /mbr" in
an elevated cmd-windows, after you get this error. This fixed it for me,
because bootsect is part of windows. (E: = Your USB stick!!)
It doesn´t work for me, you know why it could happen? ( Cpied that
bootsect.exe in the folder than window 7 usb dvd download tool), i got a
windows XP (x32) for bootabling a windows 7 x64
Beautiful :) I love it when it fits like a glove!
And NO - copying that file from Win7 CD won't work, its larger than the one
you need to download.
THANKS :)
