My brother has an iPAD 3 and I have a Motorola Xoom with 4.1 Jelly Bean. Both are WIFI only (we rooted our phones for hotspots to save money). I do think when it comes to hardware the iPAD beat my Xoom, it is much more responsive and never closes apps. But, on the flip size iPAD is concrete the only customizing you can do is change your wallpaper. Android allows for so much customizing and its app store is getting larger everyday. As a conclusion, I would still use Xoom over iPAD (1,2, or 3).

This video is horrible. He stretches out every single detail of the iPad 2 when the Xoom is, of course, in my opinion, way better. iPad gets all of their iOS versions shoved from the iPhone iOS with stretched resolution when the Xoom got it's OWN OS, 3.0 Honeycomb. I actually own both the tablets and have tried both at once and the Xoom still runs faster. But, however, iPad still managed to keep up, I will not lie. Honestly, both are great tablets but I personally prefer Android over iOS.

I just sold my xoom. Full disclosure, I use an iPhone 4, iMac, and Macbook pro. I thought I would give the Android a try. While a lot of personalizations are nice, things just do not work as well as on my Apple devices. I was really disappointed with the typing, it wasn't very intuitive compared to my apple devices. I found that apps were horribly underdeveloped with android, often not working in landscape mode. The whole experience just felt incomplete, and my iPad arrives tomorrow.

Android should win overall you can fully customize with android but with these weak ass ipads you have to jailbreak which comes with flaws...and a ipad is so boring and plain they keep the same look with all their products no matter how small or big, people who rather use a ipad over any android tablet are ridiculously stupid...ipad users cant even download things off the internet without using a app or jailbreak, but to all my fellow android user SKY IS THE LIMIT...

It is amazing how far we've come in just over 4 years. The ecosystems of both iOS and Android are completely different than these iterations. I was most shocked by the move away from all the skeuomorphism on iOS. For the most part, these tablets were the kickstarters of a new generation. The iPad 2 kicked off Apple's advancements of their first tablet and Xoom was the world's first intro (save for the Galaxy Tab) to Android tablets.

I got the xoom a year ago but have been recently started to use it a lot and I have downloaded a couple games like dead trigger and d day from the android store.thing is the games have graphical glitches and I have downloaded both games twice to no avail,can anyone help me to correct this or something(note I am horrible at programing or doing anything tech wise to computers or tablets)any help to a computer noob would be appreciated

I have the Motorola Xoom and my mom has iPad three. She said that my Motorola Xoom actually PERFORMS better and faster than hers. I have literally dropped this a lot and there are absolutely NO damage to my screen and barely any on the corners.

the iPad 2 is WAY better. swapped my xoom for it, the xoom was 32gb and the iPad is 16gb... wow, I love the iPad 2. it doesn't crash, bug.. go slow... it's just amazing. iPad all the way. Motorola is just a copy.

Moto Xoom is actually getting 4.4 KitKat I think. You are wrong. Even if iPad 2 runs latest version, it runs very slow and junky, when the Xoom is ahead of it's time and was made for processing power.

Just orderd my xoom with Tesco direct, it said non in stock online but I went down to the store and they said they could get me one in for tomorrow, yay. Hopefully can upgrade to ics.

Xoom power port is a poor design. It beaks easily, the power plug is as small as the power plug for a Bluetooth. Don't be fooled and spend your hard earn cash on a Apple I Pad.
