+Richard DownerFord is #1 selling but only by a small amount and Chevy is only a few thousand away from being #1, Dodge sales have been rising too.But better selling does not mean a better truck it can actually mean a worse truck.Also Chevy is the truck of the year. That means that it beat Ford in certain aspects of performance.Either way if you want a good truck Chevy, Ford & Dodge are the ones to get. Just stay away from Ford's aluminum frame ones.

ya stay away from them crappy triton motors. stick with them 5.0l for the trucks on the fords.. plus them triton motors have issues with the exhaust manifolds.. in the end the ford F-150 IS THE BEST SELLING TRUCK IN THE WORLD.. Yes that is a fact....yes I have given many, many others a try. and in the end I have the best luck with FORDS...

They never put V-8's in Cherokees, which is what that is.  They did in the Grand Cherokees though, which might be what you have.

+Rex4x4 Or just do a compression test (No point in doing it if there is bad compression) and if that checks out replace the rod bearings problem solved.A rod knock does not mean a bad engine.

It might be a stuck lifter with all that sludge or it maybe loose.

To me it sounds like a vacuum leak, but I'm just guessing

You can try a half can of seafoam in the vacuum line.

It might be a stuck valve, just a guess though.

Ever figure out the noise in the jeep?
