In this week's child seat review we take a look at the 2014 Honda Civic sedan. I'll answer the question "will three child seats fit in a Honda Civic?", talk about ...
Hi Alex, I'm curious which compact can best accommodate 3 child seats in
your opinion based on the graco seats you have. Thanks for another
excellent review.
The Mazda 3 does very well because of its width, it is wider across the back than most. However leg room isn't the greatest so you you're taller up front it could make rearward facing seats a bit trickier. If you need to use three child seats across the back like the Graco seats, I suggest spending the extra $1600 to upgrade to the Accord. It's one of the most accommodating cars I've tested.
AFAIK there is no schedule to these, so there's no pressure. But if you choose to edit/do any vids before the others I would def do the full review first. As nice as the annotations are, I think people would rather have the full review and click for the other vids in the description. Well, I would at least. In any case this is minor... the content is excellent and I think you do the best video reviews on the web fo folks actually looking to buy cars instead of fetishize/argue over them. Definitely keep up the good work and thanks for everything you've done.
I'm always really torn on that. Either way I do it I end up with links that don't work right away. I should probably just try to get them all done and live on the same day but I seem to be unable to stay on task...
I bought one 12 ex-l navi cause the wife loved her 97 ex, so far the ex has
231k on it with no rebuild, and can wipe this car off at 1/4 mile time,
With all the plastic crap and two blown headlamps, coupled with loose mud
flaps screws etc since new at 11k miles I am very unimpressed , not mention
it is getting only 33.4 in or out of eco mode. With eco on and a/c running
you almost have to get out and push the bastard to get it to move.. so far
I might trade it off on a neon rebuilt 2013 dart rt
Funny when you compare the Honda Civic to the Toyota Corrola. A few people
reviewed the Corrola said the same think. One of them said the Corrola
stick shift never change since 1980. Almost 20 years the Corrola only did
slight touches for the tail lights, the grill or instrument cluster. The
same for RAV-4. Surprisingly, people are still buying them. I just bought
the LX and I love it. It's not the best car in the world, but it's not
boring and it's the best car for fuel economy for the money.
@motormusique Umm no lol. Everything I film is at auto auctions for dealers
only & filming is prohibited. I buy cars for other dealers & when I have
spare time, I just film whatever catches my eye or keep in mind whatever
people request as theres still so many cars I havent done & want to redo
once I get a better camera like a new iPhone which I want or a flip. I use
an iPod nano. Kinda why I dont ever clearly show myself so I avoid being
identified. I try to not look obvious when filming
Even though the dash uses the cheaper hard material, I think thats the only
downside. The layout and the design "lines" are just a perfect and
absolutely beautiful. I think it has the best "eye appeal" at least in the
interior of anything in it's class. Also, the seats and steering wheel are
incredibly comfortable as well.I cant wait till my settlement money comes
in from car wreck/presonal injury case to buy one strait up with cash. I
agree, I test drove the Toyota Corolla and its crap.
Also, with the Corrola as well with all Toyotas, the seats are at this
fixed 45 degree angle that pushes you knees into your chest to rip you off
to give you the illusion of more leg room when actually to the intelligent
human being can see they are just pushing your legs up in the air. What
really sucks is that there is NO way to adjust to a flat level. With Honda,
they give you a choice for a totally flat level to keep good circulation in
your legs thats realy important on long trips!
@masareti Ive been doing maintenance on the car. Like i said ive never had
a problem with the drive train which is good. For me it is the small things
related to the over all quality of the car. mine is an 07. I bought it
three years used. , it is just shy of 60,000. I am a little disapointed
because honda boasts that they build quality cars that last for
ever.......i just dont see quality in the car...... but otherwise it has
been a very good car, it has never has left me stranded.
@krunky5000 Maybe gremlins snuck into your Civic upon being made but I must
say when it comes to all the other Asian models, Civic is at the top when
it comes to reliability along with best resale value. It doesnt get any
better with Corolla or Sentra. And I wont get too excited yet about
Elantra. I feel 2012 is just a refresh & something is in the works as this
car still screams 2006 despite its tweaks which by the way a 2006 still
looks better than the current 2012 Corolla lol..
I miss the pre facelift one already. I drove a 2007 1.8 EX, and I liked
driving it. Good ride up front, zippy, maneuverable, hand fun thrashing the
engine, steering is nice and accurate and the wheel is thick and small.
Felt like a comfy go kart. Only complaint is the steering, which is MUCH
TOO light at highway speeds, make over-correction a real probability and
potentially dangerous. I like the weighty steering on the Ford Focus MUCH
more and the heavier feel to the car.
@toyota4life94 Reason why its number one,is cuz alot of people are biased
about Crapollas, and think they are SOO great, when really they arent (just
my own opinion),i mean people can drive what they want, but i dont get why
there is all this buzz about the Crapolla, yeah sure its reliable, and saves
gas,and is a good car to go to the grocery store with, but thats about it.My
personal preference says that the Crapolla is the last car i would ever
think of buying lol
@toyota4life94 The LX470 is actually based on the Land Cruiser FJ100
series. The GX470 is actually the Land Cruiser Prado based on the 4Runner
and Hilux (Tacoma) platform and shares the same engine and gearbox as the
4Runner V8. The 4Runner V8's 4.7 engine is tuned by Lexus for use in the
LX470 and GX470 so it makes more power than the Land Cruiser tuned version
of the 4.7. So in reality you are driving a 4Runner with the Lexus tuned V8
from the LX470.
Ive been disapointed with Honda. Ive own one and it is constantly in the
shop. they are cheeply built. In all respect ive never had a proplem with
the drive train. It is the little things that constantly break. It is sad
because I see Toyota and Honda making the same mistakes that the Big Three
made. Making cars for quantity rather than quality. they made really good
cars 10 years ago, why cant they now?
People told me that this car had HORRIBLE interior, sure they did take out
some soft touch materials, but overall great Honda quality!!I love the new
features too,the nav,the leather (heated also). This car,and other cars in
its class total shit on the Corolla, the Crapolla is too bland, and is too
boring and cheap. But this new Civic is better than i thought, and like every
car its better than the crapolla
@toyota4life94 There are far better cars for a similar price in the compact
segment. The Corolla is waaaay past it's expiry date. Selling numbers don't
mean shit, most of the people who you see driving them are retarded drivers
anyway who need an 18 wheeler to wipe them off the road. 4 speed automatic,
drum brakes and buttons that belong on a calculator don't make a good car.
@integraz32lover The Corolla might look crap to North Americans but you
should see what they drive in Ethiopia. You will soon realize why the
Corolla is the aspirational car of many young men. And in Philippines and
Malaysia having a Civic or Accord makes you pretty ballin' because in those
countries a Civic is the price of a BMW 3-series over here.
@toyota4life94 Oh man did you get a SWEEEET ride. I rode in a 4Runner V8
and that 2UZ-FE is SWEET! Very silky smooth and so quiet under cruising. It
gets bouncy in the back seat, but up front it rides soooooo smooth like a
Lexus LS400. And you get that feeling that it can take on Africa and
Australia. I want a Lexus LX470! :D
If this is going to be an indication of what the 2013 Accord will be like
(e.g. cheaper interior, few advancements in style or technology), I might
have to leave the Honda family. :( However, the 8th gen Civic was excellent
so this car must still be decent-it's just that the 8th gen led the pack
and didn't follow.
@2000mercurysable I have an 00 XE bare bones no extra nothing and in need
of a new exhaust system, and that awful front cat converter that this gen
Sentra is notorious for, Im hoping to find something else soon, because it
wont pass inspection without that extensive work, Love the car to death
though :)
Frankly enough, the only thing about the new Civic (and maybe the new CR-V)
that I'm ashamed of is that Honda replaced their old beeping noise when you
insert the key. You can call that old beeping noise annoying, but I thought
that noise was a trademark of Honda.
2000 miles and its not even 2012 yet?? Kinda looks dinky like the Fiesta on
the outside, though I love the interior! Looks alot better than its
competitor, the Corolla! I know you may not like the interior but damn it
looks good for being a compact car.
Yes, Honda is updating the Civic for 2013. New interior, updated exterior
and possibly the addition of their earth dreams direct injection
technology. Honda admitted they screwed up this car somewhat and are trying
to recover from it. Unlike Toyota.
One of the cars I looked forward you doing along with the 2012 Camry! Hope
you get one soon! This car isn't as bad as everyone made it seem in person.
Why anyone would sanely buy a Corolla over this and others in the segment
I'll never know.
@1bentley4ever Dude,i see what your talking about!!I went to Pakistan last
year, and Corollas in Pakistan ARE THE SHIT!!!They have better quality, and
come with leather, and much much more. But here in america, the corolla is
very boring lol
I like this car more now than I did when it came out. I would lease a focus
before this and buy a civic. I want to see what kind of issues these cars
will have, especially Fords new trannys. I don't like MFT too.
@2000mercurysable I drive a bare bones Sentra now, and had a pretty loaded
SX4 before, and honestly the only thing I miss is keyless entry, and
working A/C when it gets hot, but you gott take what you can get!
@Intechdude300 it sure does. I think it looks almost the same. I drive an
07. If you put mine and a 2012 next to each other, if you are not a car
nerd like me, it would be very hard to tell the difference
@fanowner12 Nicer than the Corolldowndownahilla, which got even uglier with
the rear facelift. It is like Toyota sat down and though of how they could
make look even more like a hateful rental car.
@toyota4life94 Ok so its reliable.... /watch?v=bhQbmOf5jQk watch that
hehehe..but yeah, still not as bad as a Crappler though. The clip on interior
isnt the worst about it,there is much much more
@toyota4life94 The reason it's number 1 selling is because sheep buy it.
Its a piece of crap and it will be until they fix it. Corollas have fuel
pump problems so there not all that reliable.

@AngelMejia at :56-:59 secs you can see the cold and hot lights to the left of the green eco leaf on the dash. The blue light comes on when the car is first started and cold. The hot you will only ever see if the car overheats. The replaced the conventional temperature gauge from the 8th gen civics with an instant fuel economy gauge. Hope this helps
