A trunk latch on a 2002 Honda van was sticking shut so I show how I removed it, cleaned it, and got it working again.

This is a headache. Thank you for the info. I have the same problem on my Crown Vic. I will try this and see what happens.

Same problem with a mk2 '06 Focus, but there are no visible screws so I could tighten or loosen them.. :/

Legend! My boot/trunk has been leeking slightly and then I noticed the lid moves slightly when I push it. This should solve it a treat! Thanks man =)

You should be able to shift the latch mechanism around a little bit the way I did it in the video. if you move it down, it will make the trunk lid sit higher.

You're welcome. If your Focus has the SOHC engine, you should watch this video://youtu.be/fx8Ta871wZgIf you have the Ztec engine, you don't need to worry about it.

Alero Trunk Latch Rust Repair

The latch hook on my Oldsmobile Alero had almost rusted completely off, causing a loosely closing trunk lid. I fix it by welding on new metal to attach my trunk lid.
