hello, I've got an Yeti with 0 - 9 numbers - 5 digits lock at first it look just like yours, but when I try your method it just doesn't work, all the buttons go down easily... any idea? many thanks in advanced.
https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-FEYDeZ7BsfI/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAEU/ZRahF-6NZ_0/photo.jpg?sz=64
No not really. I've never tried a Yeti. But I've tried some other ones. They have all opened with this technique. Try hard tension on the release button. If they lock up then, it's all a matter of balancing the right tension. Not to hard, not to light.. It takes a bit of practice. If your lock is slightly different. It might retail slightly different technique. Finding the right method for a new lock is quite fun. Good lock with your lock.N

I don't understand one thing. I always see in the picklock videos the pins and the keys are like this: //upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/6/6e/Pin_tumbler_with_key.svg/1229px-Pin_tumbler_with_key.svg.png But in the doors I always see the pins reversed and you put the key inside with the saws looking down. How is people suposed to open that with picklocks? I don't know if my explanation was good.

+ketatrypt Yes, thank you.
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-XdUIqdMkCWA/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAAA/4252rscbv5M/photo.jpg?sz=64
+doctorflipy It really doesnt matter which way the lock is oriented. The pins have springs that will give you the necessary feedback no matter the orientation of the lock. A lock will pick the same, no matter if its upside down, or right-side up. Hope this answers your question.

+Papa Gleb 100 years of life and look great, I fear that many of the locks that are made now, not exactly cheap, will not have that aspect within a century. Its design is very good, is not easy to attack a disc-shaped body and an arc is hidden by the chain. Moreover they are not easy to pick. Aesthetically they are very nice. From what I have seen are rare in Europe, but there is no rush, no fall sooner or later;-)))

Is there a reputable source for these locks on KP or elsewhere? I also really like these tools. I might I have to kidnap someone to make some...
https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-SK4N2-PBhAI/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAABc/ZqgHqXLcS1A/photo.jpg?sz=64
Hey Dark, sorry for delay in my reply but I only seen your comment now. Don't know anyone selling pancake locks on KP but I got all of mine from eBay. I always ask a seller 2 questions: 1 does the shackle spring back up after being depressed or it is free floating and 2 looking into the keyway are all the levers equally lined up and stay at the same place or do they freely move. These 2 questions let me know the internal condition of the springs which are the only parts of the lock that break. You might also want to buy only from seller who accept returns. As for blanks, I make mine but you can purchase ready blanks as well.

Quick question, is the lock pawl spring loaded or solid?
https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-OcFToalW56o/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAv4/UahbED2HZvg/photo.jpg?sz=64
Thanks for the quick reply!
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-VCHnq6BJW8I/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAH8/U0D3L_PhqLI/photo.jpg?sz=64
It's Solid, so you have to manually pull out the shackle. There is a spring loaded button there, but that is simply to help to help "eject" the keys and prevent the locking dog from moving. If someone were to try to shim this lock it would not work.
